Grzegorz Proksa has been rewarded with a world title shot against Gennady Golovkin after reclaiming the European title.

The Polish middleweight, who is based in England, won back the belt after halting Kerry Hope in a rematch this month and he is now set to make his American debut against Golovkin.

Proksa challenges Golovkin for his WBA belt in New York on 1 September and he has vowed to burst onto the world scene with an explosive win.
"I have no doubt in my mind that I have the ability to knock out Golovkin," he told ESPN.

"My opportunity to showcase my talents to the world has arrived and I'm not going to let it slip away.

"This will be a difficult fight but I believe in myself to come out victorious and I'm going to bring an aggressive game plan for the fans.

"I'm coming to the U.S. to impress and take home the title."

This is a tough fight for Proska, he's a good fighter and I think he's being thrown in at the deep end here but I mean these are the kind of fights us fans clamour for so I can't complain.

Golovkin should stop him, he's a hard puncher and he usually gets to his man. Proska is flashy but his defence isn't great and I think GGG pressure will get to him late on, though I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Golovkin finish it early like the 3rd round or something.

Golovkin will stop him late, IMO. Although Proksa was better against Hope in the rematch, I was sat very close to the action and I began to notice some of the same signs of him tiring and becoming sloppy before he landed a big punch.

I really think Proksa will start well in this one as he's a little more relaxed and fluid than GG early, but I honestly don't see him putting away Golovkin and after 5 or 6 Gennady is going to start walking him down. Once that happens and Proksa begins to tire, his reflexes desert him and he's likely to get knocked out.
