WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo "El Felino" Jones is still amazed that Denis Lebedev's did not stop the fight, especially considering the Russian boxer's closed right eye, when they faced each other last Friday in Moscow, Russia. The match was stopped in the eleventh round when Lebedev went down from exhaustion and was counted out.

"I'm very upset with the corner of Lebedev. They should have protected the boxer, whose face was disfigured, but I could not stop and I had to keep doing my job. I thought they would stop it but they allowed him to keep fighting. I don't think he will [fully recover] after this," said Jones.

Jones (39-3-2, 31KOs), 41-years-old, is now hoping to move up to heavyweight to get a crack at one of the Klitschko brothers.

"That's who I want. I hope that [my promoter Don King] will get me that fight," Jones said.

Agreed, they really should have stopped the fight sooner, the punishment he took was redonkulous. :-(

Jones should target the winner of Huck/Ola III instead. If Wlodarczyk can retain against Chakhkiev then that's another option, but a Huck fight in Germany is probably the biggest money fight for him.

He'd get absolutely dominated by either Klitschko. Neither man is going to be so crude and aggressive to give Jones the opportunity to counter punch and pick them off. Wlad especially would just keep him at range and batter him with straight rights and left hooks.

@Vic-JofreBrasil I think it's simply a case of the Klitsckos presenting the biggest possible pay day for him really. In theory a fight with Huck would still be there even if he lost but was seen to have given it his all.
