Might just be me but I'm actually really excited by the prospect of this fight. It's Wladimir Klitschko's first proper test since David Haye and Povetkin has a style that should make it an action fight, although it could get scrappy on the inside.

The idea of Povetkin's team running the show after they won the purse bid and it being held somewhere like Russia or perhaps even Vegas adds to the intrigue as well for me.

I think you have to expect Wlad to win how he usually does, by softening his opponent up slowly, holding on the inside and probably ending the fight with a late knockout. But Povetkin is tough, can take a shot and can punch back. I think Klitschko could get dropped in this fight and I definitely see Povetkin as a threat.

I think Wlad is going to muller him. Povektin has slipped significantly I think, and he had real trouble with Huck, looking like he'll be taken out in the last.

I think Wlad stops him around the 9th. The right hand will find the target over and over, and I don't think Povektin will have an answer to it

Seriously though, I'm quite looking forward to this one - it shows some ambition. I'm still expecting a wide points win for Wlad though.

To copy and paste from the land of shadows:

"Frankly, I thought Huck/Povetkin could've gone either way fairly and Povetkin seemed conditioned worse than I've seen him at that. I think that's been a bit misleading. I see a lot of talk about how he went downhill after Atlas, but completely regardless of Atlas coming and going, he's looked perfectly fine to me in three of his last four fights. :conf

I think he gets unfairly put down as far as his quality. Yes, his career became farcical for a bit, shit happens, you get sucked up into the machine, but I've always maintained he's a good, solid heavyweight contender. He's the best and/or most established out there that hasn't had his shot at the man already and I look forward to the first fight I specifically wanted for Volo since Haye, barring any enormous upsets."

And add: I find the location and potential refereeing interesting. Ali likely had his lifespan shortened and life quality decreased, from a referee using his prerogative to inhibit his holding/pulling/clinching/leaning tactic on Joe Frazier throughout a match. He still won...with inhuman punch resistance and stamina. It could be very interesting. More likely though, I think it will just be a little bit harder than usual and end up with Povetkin shipping too many punches and swelling up. If Klitschko has slipped, Povetkin has found his hunger for this and gels with KT to bring some of his more formidable assets together (he has some very good ones), coming in for a workhorse affair and has a sympathetic ref, that mixture might produce the most interesting "fight" for Klitschko he's had since Samuel Peter, in the first match. But, even then, I would favour the man the Spaniards call "El Octopusse".
