It's pretty simple once you know the colour and preview text codes so you should only need to see this once but this is a guide of how to get your articles onto the front page.
Step by step guide to writing and publishing articles on CHB.
1. To create a new article, follow this link here or on the right hand side of the CheckHookBoxing.com homepage is a 'Create Article' link. Click the 'go' icon next to that.
2. You'll now be taken to the new article page. In the 'Title:' box, enter your article heading. The SEO-URL Alias box will automatically be filled in.
3. Below you'll see the main article text box. Use this template here - View attachment Article Template.txt - to ensure that the text formatting is correct for the front page.
4. After you've finished entering your article text, on the right hand side you'll see a 'Publishing Options' section. This should be pretty self-explanatory but you'll mostly want to keep these settings as they are. NOTE: You can change the publish date and time if you wish but note that if this is set to a time in the future, the article won't be displayed until that time.
5. Scroll down a bit to see the 'Section' box on the right hand side. Highlight the relevant section for your article here and likewise tick the necessary categories below as well.
6. In the Meta Description box below, enter a short sentence or two describing what the article is about. This can just be the subheading if you like.
7. After this is done, return to the top of the page and click the 'Save' icon. You'll now be taken to the article so you can see how it looks. If you need to make any further changes, click the pen icon (edit) at the top of the article to return to the editing page.
8. When you're happy with how the article looks, make sure that the 'Published' option is set to 'Yes' under Publishing Options and save again.
9. And that should be it. Any further questions or problems post them here.
