A boxer has 2 fights a year. Wiggins comes from 3 weeks of hell, wins the Tour De France and is training for the Olympics the next day and defends next week.

If he was a fighter he would be making 30 defences per year.

Last time I checked your team doesn't get in the ring and fight along side you to help you pace yourself. Cyclists also don't get punched in the face for a living. You may need to be incredibly fit but how much does skill affect cycling?

Comparing sports like this is usually derogatory to both sports involved.

Just like riding a bike.......Jesus man everyone's fired into this tour de bullshit.......Go get a bike hammer it every day for ages and you too can compete in the tour de France......Comes down to stamina and overall fitness of the legs.......I ride everywhere cos I enjoy it......Put it like this, riding a bike for 7 mile is the equivalent of jogging 1 mile...Its not hard, trust me....I dont go riding up mountains etc, but if I had to I could do, just train for it.

Bradley has mastered two sports. It's like a boxer having major success in MMA. It just doesn't happen.

Regardless of comparing the sports, Wiggins' achievements, Olympic Golds and now General Classification at the Tour De France, are among the greatest achievements by any British sportsman.

I better start hitting 100s of miles a day then, if it's that easy I should have the know how to lead Cavendish out against the Worlds top teams and sprinters in time for the next Giro D'Italia

That's their job, to do 100 miles a day or whatever, its no special talent its just doing that day in week in month in year in, they can do it every day to a high level, and over a long distance.

If I had the time or you or anyone else had the time to do it they could do it. Simple as that man.

Exactly. They're all good at it. So the winners are even better. Abysmal logic mate.

How is it?

You don't find out if your a winner until you fucking try.

I never said anything about being the best, some people are more naturally talented at sports, some have bigger lung capacity's etc, therefore can train harder and longer and get more oxygen into the blood.
