Now let me start by saying i think hes a very good fighter and could quite easily make a p4p top ten, but there's my problem, he could do but i dont see why he should be. his last win of note was over two years ago, in a scrappy bout where he edged passed Devon Alexander, who since then has been thoroughly dealt with by Andrey Kotelnik and Lucas Matthysse. His only bout with a p4p'er (Pacman) he was beaten up throughout and that was a post-prime version of an elite fighter. He has decent wins over Holt, Peterson, Witter and Vazquez, but he largely inherited his no.1 LWW mantle without really fighting for it against Khan or Marquez, what has he really done to be considered over Froch, Mares etc? He could get the wins he needs but i feel he hasn't actually done enough to be rated so high in all honesty

As a p4per right now his positioned should be criticized, his position is just based on his 'win' over Pacquiao and even though I thought he put in a decent performance in that fight the last 2 years of his career have been awful. When looking at his career as a whole though I think he's got a pretty respectable resume, wins over Vazquez, Witter, Holt, Peterson, Abregu and Alexander form a solid 4 year run in the game. I remember directly after the Alexander fight he was being heralded as a kinda throwback fighter who would fight anyone (ala Golovkin right now) then it all went tits up and he became the polar opposite as a fighter protecting himself just looking for a big paycheck

Hes a solid all rounder but I dont think hes anything great - he has a good chin so he'll hang with most guys for the distance, can spoil a bit, has good fundamentals but has no dig, can be caught reasonably easy, doesn't put in a good work rate. He's a top level boxer but still has a lot to prove in regards to P4P credentials.

As a Bradley fan, I think he fits in comfortably in an 8-15 type slot. Which, apart from all the downplaying of a lot of these top names and what they've done-the norm-is an enormous compliment in any era as an athlete. I think he's a better fighter than some of the guys I can see rated above him, who aren't, on Ring, anyway. But, subjective lists, etc. I think he'd take anyone at 147 not named Mayweather, more likely than not, and that includes Pacquiao (who I had beating Bradley handily but I think is coming apart in his twilight years, here). It's a bit like Froch's situation in that I know damned well he has no right to be called the champion in his division, but the only guy that does is too special to hold it against him on a p4p level.

fair points, i agree with and i see what you mean about the Froch-Ward analogy @Boxed Ears but who has he beaten at 147 and can we give him a top 10 place based on pure speculation atm til he starts actually fighting these people?

You claimed the other day Matthysse would beat Mayweather and now you're calling up BE on speculation?
haha good point, but i dont rate Matthysse above Mayweather in any list at any weight or p4p, whereas Bradley is rated in a lot if not most top tens, despite not really having done much in like 3 years. He could quite easily turn that around and become a force again i just find it strange hes rated so high on the proviso of "oh well he'd beat any light welter/welter not named Floyd/Pac/JMM so he doesnt need to prove it", theres loads of good matchups for him but he needs to fight in them to get the credit from me

He beat Pacquiao :good

But the same thing applies with the likes of Matthysse and golovkin, who are generally rated very highly despite lacking quality wins.

:good i guess there is that

ye i try to be consistent, i really rate Matthysee, but i cant rate him above say Garcia p4p or in the LWW division based on potential, he needs to go out and get the wins to make me put him above Garcia, but tbf he has wins over Judah and Alexander so hes donig ok ;)

Judah fight was fairly close. I scored it to Matthysse but it was no robbery.

ye i was only messing, he should have got the decision, apart from HBO i havent found anyone scoring it to Judah, i had it 115-111 i think, no doubt in my mind he won but i can see the argument for Judah, he would beat Judah comprehensively now though
