Just watched a replay off YouTube, I wonder how much the judge that scored it for Paul got paid off. Also, what I heard before was right, the fight commentating was horrible.

That would have made him eligible to be a voluntary defense.

However, I watched Makabu - Jack, and what a great fight THAT was !

Good to see the aging Jack use all his skills to beat the younger and stronger man, and under heavy pressure.
I'm thrilled for the guy, esp since he's gotten screwed several times in the past.

Admittedly it didn't "deserve" the show case or spotlight it had.

Having said that it was better than the biggest haters make it out to be.

I used to watch fights between lower skilled guys on USA Tuesday Night Fights or ESPNs Friday Night Fights back in the day (Admittedly they weren't the headliners of those cards). So...ehhh...I wasn't going to pay for it but I watched. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah they were definitely told to play up every little thing Paul did and downplay everything Fury did.

Yes for voluntary defence you have to be in the top 15. For a mandatory you need to be ranked number 1.

Being ranked 40 is pretty much meaningless it is the lowest ranking in the WBC that is they only rank 40 fighters for each division it means he would need to fighters ranked above him to climb up the rankings get into the top15 and qualify for a Title shot.

The reason I asked the question about a fight with Badou Jack in one of the previous posts was I thought the WBC was going to clout chase and rank Jake Paul at number 15. Which would have qualified him for a title shot.

Realistically a guy ranked number 40 would not even get hired as a sparring partner. Badou Jacks sparring partners are probably ranked higher.
