Source Boxing News.

Warren is still his manager until April 2013 and will recieve 25% of his purses. Is free to fight for any promoter.

Good news but a quarter of his purses going to his manager seems ridiculous IMO. That's the sort of stuff that could make him not want to fight very often.

I haven't always been a fan and still don't rate him that much but it is a real shame his career's been held back like this. Hopefully he's been putting the work in in the gym while all this has been going on.

Really? Wow. Well that's fair enough. I guess that contract was always put in place and overall before their alleged fall-out Frank did his best for DeGale, ie got him a British title fight very quickly then got the fight with George Groves to be on a big platform.

So DeGale's next fight will be on 1st May 2013 then?

This is probably good news for Allegedly. Not under any obligation to pay him such ridiculous money for fights, and will be able to concentrate on other fighters from hereon.

Wonder who'll be next?

Can't see him getting the same sort of contact he got with Warren elsewhere.

If your Hearn and Hennesey your better of investing your cash into the new olympians.

DeGale can certainly turn things around. Everybody though Carl Froch was a prick until he faced Pascal and Taylor.

If I was Degale I would make a deal with Hennessey until his contract runs out with Warren in less than a years time. He could really benefit from the exposure on terrestrial tv and that would give him bargaining power when he can sell himself as a full package in April.

Frank was talking about DeGale heading to Youngstown, Ohio next.
I hope that fight happens but would like to see it after Frank is out the picture. 25% might be standard but it's too much.
Bit of a sweeping statement. If a good manager is adding more than 25% to the boxers income though purse negotiations, sponsorship/ endorsement deals then he's paying his way and letting the fighter worry about the fighting.

DeGale is going to have to take what he's given from whoever.

Fair play to him I guess for not wanting to just sit on his deal and fight once every blue moon like so many others..... *cough* Frankie Gavin *cough*
