Technology breakthrough in boxing scoring

The new Scoring System "Electronic Ringside Scoring" has been presented in Mexico.

WBC judges used the new scoring system during the fight between Mariana Juarez and Ava Knight, leaving behind the traditional score cards.

This tablet called "Electronic Ringside Scoring" was brought to Mexico by "Mochican Sun" and it is a very effective system wherby the scores are sent to a computer that makes the immediate sum of the scores.

The president of the WBC, Don Jose Sulaiman said that he is very pleased with this system because with this, the judges pay more attention to the fight rather than pondering their score cards.

:rofl At the thread title.

I predict more harm than good from this. You're bound to see mistakes from judges when it's inputted. I guarantee at some point in the near future they'll be a shit storm regarding an old-ass techtard judge that can't use the thing properly and royally fucks up.

WBA introduces electronic scorecards

By Gabriel F. Cordero

During Saturday's WBA KO Drugs event in Kingston, Jamaica, the WBA tested a new electronic scoring system for use in the near future. The program was developed by the WBA technology department and utilizes tablets. The test was administered by twelve officials and allows scoring to be automatically tabulated to a database. "This makes it possible to see the scores on the Internet in real time through a particular web page," said WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza. "Moreover, as soon fights finish, all scores will be seen on the website of the World Boxing Association. This system enables different types of analysis of consistencies and judge's scoring among others. We are innovating in boxing with such scoring systems."

The system consists of an electronic card, which is seen on a tablet and where each judge score the bout just as on the traditional paper cards. "The idea of using this program is to replace paper cards, and allow greater transparency in the scoring," added Mendoza.

Sounds almost as bad as the WBC's open scoring system.
