Amir Khan has launched a withering attack on Kell Brook, branding his fellow Brit a 'nobody' who he has absolutely no intention of giving a payday to.

It is a potential fight that has captured the imagination in the UK and the unbeaten Brook has made it clear that he wants a shot at former light-welterweight world champion Khan.

It is Brook's repeated trash-talk that has angered Khan to the extent that the only way he would fight Brook is if the Sheffield fighter steps into the ring for free.

"A lot of people want to see me fight Brook but when we put that fight to HBO and [later] Showtime, they weren't interested," Khan said. "So if they're not interested, I'm not interested."

He ranked @ No1 at 140, so probably staying there but he's getting on my tits with all the bollox he's spouting.

Like I say, let's just get him in with Garcia or Matthyse and have done with it.

Although a part of me thinks he's going to be the next Audley and keep on coming back and getting collumn inches
I am sick of hearing about him but I reckon he keeps himself semi-relevant, gets more big fights and produces some more excitement. Still a wanker though.

I've stuck up for him a lot in the past, thought to myself "it's just a fighters arrogance"

But he really is touched I reckon, after that Diaz fight, and his reactions to it i've washed my hands of him, it's over imo.

Agreed, Brook would KO Khan with rounds to spare. The trouble is, with Khan only fighting twice a year tops it's always a long time since his last defeat, and he doesn't have that many defeats, yet. Gets tougher for him when he gets to four or five defeats and a few more knockdowns. I reckon Kell will get his chance, but will have to wait a couple of years, at which point victory over Khan will be meaningless. Will still feel good, though!

Yes, I'm sure HBO and Showtime turned down Brook so he could face Molina and Diaz.

This reminds me of when he said that British champions Jon Thaxton and John Murray hadn't achieved anything so he wouldn't fight them.

What mental things has he said about the Diaz fight? Not seen much tbh.

I think if Khan loses again coming back to england to fight Brook is probably going to be his best option for making money, how much longer are americans going to be interested in a foreign fighter who loses a fair bit?

>Kell brook is a nobody
> Carlos Molina and Julio Diaz are worthy opponents

Juan Diaz fucked his shit up the more I think about it. Brook would KO him.
That's impressive considering Baby Bull hasn't fought him. :p

Khan's a prick. Everyone knows his best weight is 153; why is he trash talking a 147 fighter?

Khan outboxed your brain with his Amir Khan-ness. Happens to us all at least once a month.

He didn't exactly call Kell Brook a "nobody" when you put the phrase in context in which he said it.

"Only in England would that fight make sense, but nobody in the States cares about that fight," Khan said. "They want to see me fight the big names over there, not a nobody like Kell Brook, who hasn't done anything. Let him win a world title or fight a top opponent. Right now he has not done anything whatsoever to shout about. And if I did [agree] to fight him maybe he'd pull out twice on me like he's done to Devon Alexander."
The point he's making (which Dan leaves until the very end, of course) is that Brook is a nobody in the US. Which is true. Khan says it would be of interest in the UK.

It's come to a dark time if I'm defending Khan, but this is lazy journalism and it pisses me off when people don't bother to check the whole article.

Agree with this although I am often guilty of not reading full articles myself. They just pick the most controversial line they can in order to get debate going, and stir the hornets nest
