Sources close to the situation have advised BoxingScene.com that Josesito Lopez (30-5, 18KOs) has emerged as the early frontrunner to face former champion Amir Khan in April.

After suffering back to back defeats, Khan (27-3, 19KOs) returned on Saturday night and dominated Carlos Molina for a TKO in ten. Lopez had a year filled with ups and downs. He moved up to the welterweight division and scored one of the year's biggest upsets with a ninth round stoppage of Victor Ortiz. He then moved up again, to junior middleweight, but bit off more than he could chew when WBC champion Saul Alvarez dropped him three times for a fifth round TKO.

Good fight imo. Lopez is seriously going to try draw Khan into a war. Will he take the bait?:think

Far too soon to suggest when Khan will be back considering he fractured both hands last night.

It would be a good fight. Lopez hasn't made 140 in a while tho.
I was actually wondering what weight this would be at. How long has Khan has been supposedly moving to 147? lol
After Garcia sparked him he said he'd remain at 140
You take what Khan says seriously?
If the fighter himself says he is staying at 140, why wouldn't I believe him? He is hardly saying it to draw a mega offer from a welter
A few months ago he said he was up to fighting Hatton at 147 lbs.
There's a difference between fighting an old corpse of Hatton than an actual welterweight champion. If he moves up it'll be Paulie.
