Sources close to the situation have advised BoxingScene.com that Josesito Lopez (30-5, 18KOs) has emerged as the early frontrunner to face former champion Amir Khan in April.

After suffering back to back defeats, Khan (27-3, 19KOs) returned on Saturday night and dominated Carlos Molina for a TKO in ten. Lopez had a year filled with ups and downs. He moved up to the welterweight division and scored one of the year's biggest upsets with a ninth round stoppage of Victor Ortiz. He then moved up again, to junior middleweight, but bit off more than he could chew when WBC champion Saul Alvarez dropped him three times for a fifth round TKO.

Good fight imo. Lopez is seriously going to try draw Khan into a war. Will he take the bait?:think

He said in the build up with Garcia that it would be his last fight at 140 lbs.
I don't think he accounted for getting chinned in those plans.
He said in the build up with Garcia that it would be his last fight at 140 lbs. Are we saying that Amir isn't partial to taking shite here gents? He's been gibbering about moving up for 2 years now.
That was because he was chasing a Mayweather fight and was looking past Garcia. His current plans are to avenge defeats over Peterson and more favourably Garcia so he is staying at 140. I dont doubt he'll move u if the moneys right or he outgrows the division.
His hands are a mess would they be fully healed for April? be a good fight no doubt, no shame in Lopez going up to 154 loosing to Canelo. Could think of worse opponents.
Anyone think Breidis Prescott would be a good pre-Garcia challenge? Assuming he beats Lopez, I'dhave him fight, Prescott, Peterson then Garcia for the undisputed title (as GBP wont have let Matthysse anywhere near Danny Garcia by then)
He's never going to fight Breidis Prescott, get over it.
Lopez Khan? Hmm I'm not that impressed with Lopez, I thought Lopez moving up to fight Canelo was a really foolish move. I think Khan can overwhelm him and get a UD.
Far too soon to suggest when Khan will be back considering he fractured both hands last night.

It would be a good fight. Lopez hasn't made 140 in a while tho.
He can make it, hes no bigger than Khan, vs Canelo he didnt look to have put on any real muscle IMO. I say 140lbs he can make.
Prescott would be a horrible choice. Agree with FJ, that fight isn't happening.

The only rematch I want to see him in is Garcia. The trouble is, I think Garcia beats him again.
