Who wins & how?

Nothing confirmed yet, just a rumour but if it does happen in September then how does the fight go?

Molitor has fought in Britain 4 times & won them all, most recently in 2010 he defended his IBF 122lb title against Jason Booth. Vastly more experienced but at 32 is past his absolute prime.

Galahad has only had 12 pro fights & limited amateur experience before that. Is this too big a test too soon or the right fight at the right time?

Very interesting fight, Molitor has slipped substantially over the last couple of years but I think he has enough left to beat Galahad at present. it's a big gamble but if Galahad wins it will propel him tenfold.

Big gamble, Molitors obviously well past his best but I would still pick him. Galahad has never faced anyone as good as him, he's on a completely different planet to Josh Wale.

I think the Kid has a good chance to win this but its a very interesting fight, a nice clash of styles & youth vs experience.

Galahad has good speed, mobility & a decent workrate but has never fought at this level before. He needs to be busy in this fight as I think the cleaner, more effective shots will be landed by Molitor. If the Kid can keep the pace high & fustrate his older opponent then I reckon he's got a good chance of an upset.

Molitor is an accurate puncher with good fundamentals, if he can consistently land on the Kid when he's on his way in & out of flurries then he should be too good. Tbh we dont know how good Galahad's chin is, so a stoppage win isnt improbable.

What comparisons can we draw between their fights with Jason Booth?

I'd probably go for Galahad. I worry about his lack of pop at true world class but not so much against Molitor. Molitor ain't the guy that walks you down and bludgeons you if he isn't effective, he wants to box with you. Although, his strength was the difference between him and Jason Booth so a reasoning for Molitor could point towards that, but Booth was perhaps smaller than Galahad. I see the difference being Galahad's speed and unorthodoxy giving the mostly orthodox Molitor issues, and especially his activity level against an aged Molitor.

I think Molitor's graph is definitely on the downward curve. He's probably gone from world class (albeit slightly frail and exploitable) dropping towards fringe/very good European level and considering the lack of punch power he holds its a fight where I wouldn't be so concerned about Galahad's weaknesses in whereas I'd have big problems with him against a puncher.

I think Molitor is further gone than most people do. He was poor against Booth and has slipped further since.

He needed a gift in his last fight to get through it.

I think Galahad would win. He's fresh and Molitor is actually shot, prime for prime it's a no-contest obviously but I think Molitor is gone to the point where Galahad beats him in a close one.

I call bullshit on the OP. Where are these rumours? I'm going to assume you're making them up. There's no way KD's team have a chance of fighting Molitor. Molitor is pretty damn shot so I wouldn't rule out a Galahad win. Pick em fight at this stage. Galahad's lack of power is worrying. I think Munroe, Quigg and Frampton would beat him.

I like Galahad, Munroe, Frampton and Quigg in this matchup I just think he is just past it and was lucky to hold onto his world title up until recently. He can be outboxed and he can be outbanged. I think different memebers of that group could beat him in a number of different ways.

The thread is from 3+ years ago mate. And besides, Galahad is serving a suspension for a failed drug test. And i'm guessing Molitor is retired as he hasn't fought in 3 years.
Jeez haha, i knew i wasnt watching as much boxing as i would like but this kind of confirms how out of touch i am with the current boxing scene, it did seem a bit odd for Molitors name to be brought up.
