It'll be a great great fight while it lasts, but Jones should win. Purdy will start fast, but Carlson has proven he can take a shot and return fire down the stretch.

If Purdy were to win it looks bad on Brook, if Purdy loses then that's obviously bad for Haern for obvious reasons. Strange fight to make imo

Agree and agree. Great fight for the fans, but can have negative consequences whichever way it goes for the reasons you stated. Maybe Hearn is thinking that he can get the Brook rematch on, assuming Kell picks up the IBF and if Jones beats Purdy.
Having said that, Jones to win for me.

I know what you mean but at least Brook has another fight before then so he's got another chance to make a good impression. If Purdy were to win, it might look slightly bad on Brook but it'd also be very good for Lee Purdy. It's definitely a fight that Purdy could win and Jones is now kind of known over here.

If Purdy does win then hats off to Hearn, then as you said the positives of Purdy winning outweigh the negatives of Jones losing. But really if Jones comes in with the same attitude he came in for the Brook fight then Purdy's not got much of a chance imo.

Surprised about this. I know Purdy got into the top 10 at welter for the IBF but it's still a big step up for him. I think Jones is too experienced a fighter and a bit ahead of Purdy to be honest. I reckon Jones wins by stoppage.
I'm guessing @Bryn would have scored the fight the same, and Brook would just be Welsh instead of English. We're not all as blinded by patriotism as you lot.How about if Brook was welsh?

If jones starts faster than he did against brook then I think he'll win by late ko, if he starts slowly again purdy may punish him for that and stop him. Cracking fight either way

Great fight to make, I like Purdy, although I fear he has bitten off more than he can chew here. That said, though, Brook seemed to be doing all he could to make Jones look good that night and still got away with it, Purdy/Hearn might well think that they have learned from that and have an opportunity to make Purdy look good. They already have the excuse out there for Brook's performance, and Brook's next fight booked, so I guess they just see this as an opportunity to capitalize on the name Brook gave Jones with the casuals over here and build Purdy. Great, positive matchmaking from Hearn, love this fight.
That said, though, much as I will be rooting for him I don't see Purdy pulling this off, however good he looked last time out.
