He was exposed to a degree, as much as that term is overused. Nobody expected Froch to blow him away like that. The thing is, if he a shit bum then the win doesn't mean much does it? If he was so shit Glen Johnson wouldn't have given up and stopped punching after the first round. He's still a top guy in the division, just levels below Froch.

Lucian was relatively untested at the very highest level, so he was "exposed" to a certain extent, but it's still one hell of an achievement to have destroyed him in such devastating fashion. Froch is a bad man.

Bute came up against a perfect wave, Froch with perfect preperation, on his turf and with a solid game plan blew him away. I doubt Ward or Kessler would have made him look as out of depth, though both would beat him.

I agree with this. I'd still love to see Bute vs Ward but sadly that's not going to happen now after Froch destroyed him so decisively.

I wouldn't even count it as running away from anything. A Froch rematch is pointless, he has his number and would beat him 99/100 imo.

Froch-Kessler 2 is definitely the fight I want to see! Are there really rumours about it being at the City ground? That would be class if it was all packed out. Froch fans were amazing last weekend.

There is talk of the City Ground, Froch has mentioned it among conversations and Kessler is the sort of diamond who would love it also, a great fight in the making. Ward has my full credit, but he is all wrong for Froch and I think CF knows it. Stick them in a car park in Bulwell, Notts, then Carl might be interested (chance wise).

I read Kessler at the City Ground in September the other day, that doesn't make much sense though.

Anyway, here are Russ Anber's thoughts: http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/breaking-down-lucian-butes-brutal-loss-with-russ-anber/

I respect Lucian Bute more than some internet warriors do because he is a boxer (talking about everyone who has posted in this thread so far except Lunny, Wiirdo, Wallet, Bajingo, Roe, Dave). Then again some of these internet warriors are undefeated in street fights so maybe they'd batter Bute.

I always found it wrong that Bute was rated so high whilst not partaking in the super six, wherein a lot of top fighters fought each other and compiled good/decent resumes.
