Brian Magee is targeting a potential money spinning rematch with Carl Froch, and, if successful, a clash with WBA (super) and WBC King Andre Ward.

Magee meets Mikkel Kessler tomorrow night on the Danes home soil to defend his interim WBA title.

Obviously I don't see Magee getting past Kessler frankly but if he did, surely it's too much of a step up to fight Froch and certainly Ward?

fair play to him for going for it, but even if he beats Kessler, what does a match against him do for Froch or Ward? Bigger money and better names out there for both unfortunately

Can't see Froch wanting it. He's got rematches with Bute, Kessler and Ward. Though if Magee did beat Kessler he'd certainly be a big enough name and it'd be a fairly easy sell with the domestic angle.

No chance in hell does Ward use his one fight per year on Magee.

In terms of whether he should look for those fights, of course. He's in good form but in the swansong period of his career; if he beats one of the best in the division it only makes sense at his age to go after the others and try and cash-out as much as possible with the few remaining fights he probably has. In terms of whether he can, I doubt it. It's a moot point anyway given he won't get past Kessler. If he does, then we'll know Kessler is shot. If he loses this fight it says more about him being a shadow of his former self than Magee being true world-class, so he'd still get smashed by Froch and dominated by Ward either way.
