Maloney to announce new TV deal tomorrow

London-based promoter Frank Maloney is set to unveil a new TV deal during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Maloney's news will mean that every major promoter in the U.K. has a TV deal in place: Eddie Hearn is currently tied to Sky, Frank Warren is with BoxNation and Mick Hennessy is on terrestrial TV with Channel 5. They are joined by Steve Goodwin, Primetime, and Dave Coldwell, who recently launched his own online viewing application so that fans can enjoy his shows.

Maloney's stable is headed by Liverpool's David Price, the 15-0 (13) British and Commonwealth champion registered wins over John McDermott, Sam Sexton, Audley Harrison and David Price this year and looks set for a strong 2013, as long as Maloney can continue to entice the right type of opponents for his 6' 8'' contender.

America's Tony Thompson is rumoured to be in the frame for his next fight, but Maloney is also trying to temp fellow contender Tyson Fury into an all-British showdown. Fury, though, is working his WBC ranking and has been mentioned by Wladimir Klitschko, who is looking for his next opponent.

Either way - and unless Maloney's new deal is with Channel 5 - the Fury fight will always be a big ask. As long as both men keep winning, and seeing as the Klitschkos appear to be winding down, it is inevitable that they will clash at some point. Hopefully we will reach this point sooner rather than later and there will be a significant title, or two, on the line by the time it does happen.

For now, though, Maloney will unveil his new TV deal, reveal the details of his first three shows on the station and, in all likelihood, let the world know what Price's next move will be. It could be an interesting 2013 for the diminutive promoter, who was shaken by the loss of his Sky TV dates in the summer, but bounced back with a few shows on BoxNation and, given today's pre-announcement of an announcement, still has a trick or two up his sleeve.
