Solid list, it's hard to disagree with much of that.

The de la Hoya fight is kinda hard to rate, seeing just how bad Oscar looked before and during the fight. But you can't take that away from Manny and many were split on who would win before.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. In the run up to De La Hoya, the large majority of writers and fans thought Oscar would be far too big for him. Yes, he didn't he good against Forbes, but people were saying that Manny should still be considered the best in the world, even after Oscar knocks him out. But that didn't happen, Pacquiao not only won every round, but he beat the piss out of De LA Hoya that night. It was a great win IMO

Yeah I think i ranked it accordingly, it was a huge upset and most people had Oscar, its one fight I won massive on at the bookies. Still, looking back, you can see it was a far past prime Oscar so whilst it still ranks high, it has no business at the top end of the top ten.

I think Pacquaios win over Oscar is better, both guys fought a fairly shot version but Pacquaio dominated and stopped him. Floyd make tough work out of him in a scrappy fight.

Margarito ony scrapes in on size, he was pretty shot when the fight happened, had been hammered by past it Mosley and took a year ban just after he had peaked, Still a good win but he was massively expected to destroy him anyway.

How come? Thought it was a very impressive win, especially the demolition job he did on him. Think it should at least be above the De La Hoya fight. That fight was purely just a coming out party for Pacquiao at Welterweight. The win itself meant nothing, I don't think.
Margo had the shit kicked out of him, had been exposed as a handwrap cheat, was coming off a lay off and it was for a bullshit belt at a catchweight. Mosley ruined him. I just don't really rate it.

Sorry but I just cannot see how you pick Pac's win over Floyd's and then accuse Margarito of being a shot fighter. He had much more in him than De La Hoya did, despite the loss and handwrap fiasco, he was still a more fearsome fighter than De La Hoya at the time, and he was a big fucking guy who was fighting at his natural and most comfortable weight.

Just because the betting odds were for De La Hoya, I don't think makes it a great win. Sometimes you can look back in history and see that hype can cause a lot of that.

I was young at the time, and I knew it was against a past-peak ODLH, but that win really captivated me. That and a certain Forest Cobra on that same day...

I don't think that peoples pre-fight thoughts can solely be used to ignore the absoutely awful shape of DLH that night.

Wasn't at all Pacs fault, but Oscar was just terrible.

If we're talking about straight up underdog wins & names on paper, then it's one of his better ones

But the actual fighters on the night? :verysad It's a little lower

I agree mostly with the list in the OP though I have doubts as to whether I would credit JMMII as a win

Chatchai Sasakul should absolutely be there, definitely above fuckin' Oscar Larios anyway. Besides that, it's a solid list. I'd also rate the win over Marquez in their second bout over the Cotto victory despite him savaging Cotto and scraping by El Dinamita.
