BoxingScene.com reported a few weeks ago that former champion Marco Antonio Rubio (56-6-1, 49KOs) would receive the WBO's number one ranking at middleweight. Rubio's camp has confirmed that he indeed received the WBO's top position at 160, with former champion Dmitry Pirog getting the number two spot.

In February, he challenged Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for the WBC middleweight crown and lost a twelve round decision. He returned to the ring three more times in 2012 and won all three fights by knockout.

At the moment the WBO champion is undefeated Peter Quillin (28-0, 20KOs). He defends the title against Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19KOs) on February 9th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Rubio is now the first in line for the WBO middleweight crown and his team is already making plans to pursue the winner of February's match.

How has he managed that? :huh
