Matt Christie has this as part of his 2013 wish list in Boxing News.

At first, I thought this was insane. But Ward has completely cleaned out 168, and has beaten the best 175lb fighter out there.

Huck would, of course, be a massive tests. Could Andre beat him?

Not at 175 though. You can't claim to be done with a division that you've never even fought in. There's still guys around 175 too, the winner of Pascal-Dawson, Cloud, Bute's going up. He could try and make a fight Cleverley just to get a belt there.

Nah, no need for him to go all the way to Cruiser this year imo.

Got no idea how it would pan out being so far above his current weight.

I'm definitely not saying he is done at 175. There are still options out there. But not a great deal IMO. Say Dawson beats Pascal again. A rematch won't sell as Ward won comfortably last time. He will say he was weight drained (which I think he was) but you would have to wonder if he would even want the fight. Cloud is nowhere near ready for someone like Ward yet, and Hopkins would be a horrible fight to watch. Martinez won't step up in weight again, and I doubt Chavez Jr takes the fight either

He pretty much took apart that Clemente Russo in the Olympics who was the favorite going into that fight and he campaigns at heavyweight now, granted it was the amateur but he is a big dude.

There are no words for how awful Matt Christie's writing is. Except awful. That's actually a pretty good word for it.
 I know your feelings towards him. I actually don't mind him. He is a nice guy and a better writer than Steve Kim IMO, and Daniel Herbert too.

You mean beats him for the first time - Pascal clearly won that fight.

Cloud is plenty ready, he's been fighting and beating good opponents. Sure his limitations got exposed against Campillo (sp), but he's still a fun, aggressive fighter. Even if he improved 50% he'd never beat Ward, but he can make Andre work and put on a bit of a show maybe. Pascal would make for a good fight too, I think - certainly in the early going when Pascal is at his most explosive.

Matt Christie's work reads like he's eaten a thesaurus and vomited it all over the page.

Yeah I suppose he might have a tough time finding a fight. Though the Bute fight will sell if Bute has a decent win next time out. But then that depends on Bute's plans with Froch etc....

Well, most sixth form journalism students have better prose that Herbert - his are among the few reports/previews I always skip. BN's writing talent is shockingly lacking in depth right now.

Steve Kim, regardless of whether I'm a fan of him, does a lot more gym scouting, etc than any of the current British lot. He really knows a lot of the guys deep in the sport, something Christie can't claim.

I'd turn it off if he came on. The guy appears pretty clueless about the sport.

It's as if he thinks contstant alliteration and vaguely phallic/ejaculatory language makes him expressive. I will say that he has toned that down recently, only for Tris Dixon to nearly cream his underwear at Pac-Marquez IV. It's shit writing by osmosis.

I apologise, for all his faults his list wasnt bad (Greb strangely low):

1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Muhammad Ali
3. Henry Armstrong
4. Sugar Ray Leonard
5. Joe Louis
6. Roberto Duran
7. Harry Greb
8. Ezzard Charles
9. Willie Pep
10. Archie Moore

Bob Mee's however :/ :

1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Archie Moore
3. Joe Louis
4. Henry Armstrong
5. Muhammad Ali
6. Carlos Monzon
7. Jimmy Wilde
8. Harry Greb
9. Jack Johnson
10. Benny Leonard

Some strange rankings there

Sorry, not sure where the 'again' come from. If expect Dawson to come out on top this time. His limitations were shown up in the first fight, but it's difficult to say what Pascal shows up after the midway point. Often his work rate drops significantly, and I think Chad capitalises, unless he gets caught

 that's harsh man. I'd hate to think what you and @dftaylor think of my writing skills!

Yeah I suppose he might have a tough time finding a fight. Though the Bute fight will sell if Bute has a decent win next time out. But then that depends on Bute's plans with Froch etc....
The Bute fight has lost all it's credibility to me. If he fights Froch and beats him, then sure it'll be great. But I think he'll be annihilated again

 on the first paragraph!

Kim is a brilliant journalist. Like you said, he knows his stuff and is great for a big of gossip (probably only second to Rafael). But I'm not a fan of his writing at all

Huck would absolutely demolish Ward at this point in time.

I really rate Ward but I hope his career doesn't end up mostly being hypothetical. We've already heard claims that he's the best at light heavyweight despite never fighting there.

The thing that bugs me about ward is that he clearly just wants to fight at home if he were a European fighter the yanks would be useing the old he only fights at home argument to play down his wins
