Raises the question, why?

Massive Ego is a bitch for some people. I doubt it's about the money since he's made more money than any other fighter in history that I can think of, and that includes Tyson who is rumored to have blown more than $400 million in purse money over the years-------of course in Tyson's case you have to consider how much of that wound up in Don King's bank account, because it costs a lot to have him on your side.

With the sparse turnout and poor PPV numbers from his last fight in England, I'd think this gravy train should have run its course and he'd do the right thing and totally step away from putting on these bullshit exhibitions. If he wants to make an impact in boxing, become a trainer and pass some of that knowledge on to young up and comer fighters who are the future of the sport.

So, it sounds like you're OK with aging, retired ex-champs cheapening the sport with these silly exhibitions against opponents who would not have even qualified as a sparring partner when they were in their prime.

To me, it just does the sport a disservice with these guys fighting nobodies and then airing these shams on PPV to boot. It's nothing more than a money grab and ego thing at this point in time.

Keyword EXHIBITION.

There is no law that's says you have to stop working past a certain age. Or that you have to stop working past a certain level of wealth.

First of all, if someone is willing to pay Mayweather the ridiculous amount of money at this stage of his career that theyre paying him, that means that there still a market for him. So let the free market speak for itself. And don't try to deprive the consumer of a legal good/service.

Also, he's not cheapening the sports in anyway. No major sanctioning body has him in their rankings. No major network on this side of the pond is covering these exhibitions. He's not taking the spot of a deserving fighter(ranking), so what's the problem?

If a man is able and capable, why deprive or shame him of doing an honest work. YES, honest work, because no one is being forced to watch these exhibitions.

If he can still make money and draw a crowd why the hell wouldn't he be doing it. More power to him.
The UK one was a bit of a bust but so far from what I have seen all the exhibitions have had a crowd and would have made him some money.

He's definitely not getting hurt in any of them. They aren't being sold as a real fight. So who cares. If he were ever to come to Sydney to beat up on some Aussie "Influencer" I sure as hell would go along to watch.

If you're not interested then just tune out. It's not as if they are hard to ignore or having huge publicity pushes like, say Jake Pauls fights are.
