Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's close advisers, told ESPN.com on Wednesday that Mayweather plans to fight twice in 2013, both on the Mexican holiday weekends that typically are target dates for major fights.

"Floyd has told us that he is fighting twice in 2013 with the first date being May 4 - Cinco De Mayweather - and the second date being September 14," Ellerbe said.

"Mayweather Promotions is looking forward to these two gigantic Floyd Mayweather events in 2013, and we are in ongoing discussions with our promotional partner, Richard Schaefer (chief executive of Golden Boy Promotions) in finalising the opponent and other aspects of the upcoming promotion."

Ellerbe said both fights would take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where Mayweather has fought his past six fights. Mayweather also lives in Las Vegas.

Nice one Roe, can you promote this to front page article as well - (using the link under the post), and fill in relevant tags (see: THIS ARTICLE for how I've done new tags for SEO purposes).

Thanks!

I'm now nervous about betting on JMM - if Floyd says that he'll do the pac fight if he comes through against JMM, then you just know that JMM won't be allowed to win unless he knocks out Pac.. :-(

I think it may be Pac then Martinez :deal

Yeah I was gonna do this anyway :thumbsup

I'm just testing out a couple of things at the minute but I'll do the tags in a bit.

I would still watch him fight Pac but really don't care whether it happens or not now, it seems less likely than ever at the moment.

Is he going back to 148?

Wouldn't it be more likely that he faces Alvarez on Cinco De Mayo? I guess Guerrero could work too but it's not as good a sale. Guess it depends on whether he's planning to bail out for good after 2013; Alvarez would make a much better send-off fight than Guerrero afterall.

The Guerrero fight is a shit one, in my humble opinion. Although he's earnt his shot it doesn't particularly send the pulse racing. The Alvarez fight is a better one, although you can question just how much he's done to earn a shot at Mayweather.

Yeah I don't care much for a Guerrero fight, Alvarez is a much better option for the May date although he's achieved less. I'd personally like to see a Bradley fight over both of those two, but it won't happen.

Look man, just cos you get sparked out doesn't make you any less marketable, anyone with any brains knew Floyd would outbox Manny whenever they had fought, so whats the difference now?....Same bunch of casuals screaming for Manny and then see him get embarrassed even worse than on Sat night, picked apart and taken to school big time.

Dont know how long ive said it for, for the result of Floyd vs Manny, see Floyd vs Juan....Its very clear to see.....Very. It always has been.

People in positions of power prey on the weak, heard an interview with Manny last week saying they agreed 55/45 to winner, and even that 180 million dollars has been offered from some sheik or someone in Dubai to get the fight on over there...Its not dead yet.

Id still rather see Floyd vs Martinez before any other bout...

But what you have to bear in mind is, Floyd an his team are in the business of making money right, so two bouts on Mexican holidays yeah, maximize the PPV sales, he then fights two Mexicans clearly.........Marquez II and probably Canelo, cos Canelo is green an beatable with Floyds ring-craft and hes already got the blueprint for Juan....Easy 100 mill or so.
