Not sure how much truth is in this as Floyd is currently banged up and I havent seen it from a reliable source but everywhere I have looked today this story has been cropping up.

Apparently they are pushing for a December 1st rematch.

Can't see the point myself, Floyd has already beaten him and despite it being a decent fight by Floyd standards it was pretty one sided when it came to totting up the scoring, Cotto never really looked like winning throughout and imo it wasn't even that good a fight.

Any point:huh

It was a good fight, that much is certain, but not good enough for a rematch.

But there's not really a huge list of guys Mayweather can fight straight when he comes out. Pacquiao will be tied up with Bradley/Marquez, both Bradley and Pac will be with Arum so the deal is hard to make anyway, Martinez is fighting JCC, Ortiz has plebbed out, Berto doesn't really have the momentum he once did, the only guys out there I can think of off the top of my head is Saul Alvarez (WAY too soon for him, let him bud) and Amir Khan should he get past Garcia. I would like to see Khan-Mayweather, I think its time. I don't think Khan's really going to improve that much more and Mayweather doesn't want to get too old in there.

i have a slight sneaky suspicion that mayweather v malinaggi could be made
a non big puncher might be seen as a safe, yet 'name' opponent who brings a belt to the table, especiaaly for first fight after jail time...and malinaggi, probably feeling happy to be a belt holder again and a smart lad will want to cash in while he can

Floyd's got to be careful about who he fights, he knows that. I think Cotto shocked him a bit. I think he thought he'd work close and dog it out and be far to much for Miguel and stop him. At the end of fight he looked more tired then i've seen him in years the body punches really affected him. I think he'll continue with his predatory match making ways and fight a name but someone who won't be a major threat to the all important '0'.

I'd be shocked if this fight happens again, 24/7 would be even worse .

Although it was a close but clear Mayweather win, I'd probably still watch this, I'd like Cotto to fight again though, he's looking good under this new coach
