What's the story with this series of fights?

Did mijares look finished or did he give a good account of himself? I've not seen either myself and am unsure whether they're worth watching?

The first bout is on YouTube:

Both fights were close, and you can more than make an argument for Mijares taking the first bout in my opinion. I haven't seen the second in ages but it's more clear-cut than the initial match-up anyways. Seems mostly like it was a mixture of his confidence/ego being shattered by the Darchinyan fight and that he kind of ditched his usual in the pocket countering style for a more aggressive mindset. Tried to force his work far too much and got picked off at times.

At the time it did appear as though he had been ruined by Vic, which is why his recent run of form makes this couplet of fights look even more bizarre. Cermeno has since shown that he's never really been up to a huge amount too. Baffling for me really, an odd blip in the career of an otherwise excellent fighter.

I've just watched it and scored it 7-5 to mijares. I think cermeno took the first, the middle and one of the later rounds. Mijares edged most of them though I thought.

still, given cermenos level mijares should have done much better against him.

I reckon that it can be said only darch has mastered him in his career. A rematch between them could be worth something, so could a rematch with arce. I don't wanna see him sacrificed to nonito though.
