I got into the pub at about 5ish and met up with Ben Doughty and a few pals for pre fight drinks. We ended up getting the tube to Upton park about half 7ish.
The Fight:
As the music started, I put Union jack flag around my face and stood up to cheer on Chisora with his epic ring walk. I looked around and saw about 300 people laughing at me, all with Team Haye t-shirts on (these ******* must have had a bad memory after Haye cost them £14.99 with the Wlad fight).
The fight started exactly how everyone thought, Del marching forward, Haye back peddling. In the first and second, Del wasn't throwing enough, but was making Haye work for every minute of the round.
At the end of the third, it looked to me that Chisora had Haye going a little bit. A big left hook staggered Hayemaker right at the bell.
Round 4, Haye's shots were far crisper. Del was taking a bit of a pasting (what were with the Froch uppercuts BTW?) but Del was walking forward (even tho badly hurt.) nonetheless, it was shaping Jo to be a good fight.
The end came in the fifth. I actually thought Del was doing ok, but a laps in concentration saw him walk onto a massive shot, and down he went after a 5 punch combo. After rising to his feet, he did ok to hold for a while, but was sent down again.
Upon rising at 7, the referee waved the fight off with 10 seconds left in the round. But I don't mind the stoppage. Del was hurt bad, and another shot could have ended it in brutal style.
It was refreshing to see the sportsmanship from both fighters at the end of the fight.
Casino:
I got a text from @Holmes and met up with him by Upton Park station. What was funny tho, is I was sat 2 seats away from him in the ground, and we were actually talking to each other without realising.
We got to the casino about 12 were we had countless beers (even if Holmes made me order a Blue WKD!) we stayed until 4, and even bumped into @Supermanintights and @Trinity !
Khan
I made it home at the start of round 2. And it wasn't long before I was pissing myself laughing. He was raged all night long, and was sent down with a murderous overhand left which knocked him bandy! In the 4th, all the talk of Mayweather and 147 seemed a distant dream. Once again he had looked passed as opponent and was humbled in the ring.
I don't know where he goes from here. Back to back defeats when he was a heavy favourite. 147 is going to be a bad move, and he'll be knocked spark out by anyone who can hit.
Anyway, I'm ready to take my punishment like a man. So @roe hit me up with the avatar
