Promoter Frank Warren won this morning's official WBO purse bid for the light heavyweight battle between champion Nathan Cleverly (25-0, 12 KOs) and mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi (39-2, 15 KOs). Warren, who promotes Cleverly, was represented by Dean Powell - and he secured the rights with a winning bid of $500,000. Ulf Steinforth of SES, on behalf of Krasniqi, came up short with a bid of $431,650. Warren advised the World Boxing Organization that Cleverly-Krasniqi will take place on March 16th and the location will either be in London, Liverpool or Cardiff.

* The reigning WBO International Light-Heavyweight Champion.

* He's won his last 4 bouts by knockout and they were all title fights (no boxnation).
* BoxRec rate him as the #34 ranked light-heavyweight in the world, so it's a considerable step up from Cleverly's most recent opponents Shawn Hawk and Tommy Karpency who are now rated #49 and #84 respectively.
