buncey was speaking to him on his show recently....what a fabulous boxer to watch he was, really eye-catching style..

he lost 5 times...but...first lost he avenged with a 2nd round ko....next two loses, in world title fights, were both split decisions (wilfredo vazquez and junior jones....although some very weird scoring in the junior jones fight, he lost 117-111 and 118-111 on two of the cards, but won 119-109 on the other card!!)...the next loss was avenged in the next fight with a 6th round stoppage....and his last ever fight was another split decision loss.

Yeah, Jones won the fight fairly clearly. The first few rounds of that one were fantastic. Jones really had to take a few hard ones in the opening minutes.

As already said, Canizales was a great fighter at his best. Great combinations, punishing power, and some impressive footwork that confused the majority of his opponents at Bantam. Very rarely hurt at that weight, too. A pretty complete fighter overall, but he did tend to coast in a lot of his fights, and often went down to the level of his opposition. I like to watch his fights with Seabrooks. Not all that competitive, but you watch it just to see the offensive brilliance of Orlando.

Great chin and great all-round puncher, beautiful form.

Most of the top notch lower weight fighters if Orlando's era missed out on each other, and therefore certified greatness. Certainly a formidable fighter though.
