Despite Arum and Roach saying he should rest until September, Pacquiao said:

"There is nothing to be worry about. I am 100 percent healthy and right now I'm enjoying this memorable vacation with my family in this beautiful country of Israel. I will return to the Philippines on January 14 and in early February because I want to get to the gym because I want to have a fight in April and in September I want the fifth fight with Marquez."

A doctor has gone on record to suggest Manny is showing the early signs of Parkinson's, but Mannny responded:

"The statements by the doctors show a total lack of ethics and it was irresponsible. This was just personal opinion and there were no medical tests."

The doctor later said he based his opinion on watching Manny on TV, so no real substance for me.

Is it a good idea for him to return in April? Who does he fight?

I'd say it would be Rios. A come forward pressure fighter to make Manny look good.

If they want a lighter puncher (even tho I don't think Rios is a massive puncher anyway) a Bradley rematch would be ok with me

I'd like to see him take on Bradley again, and get the merited W this time. Let's face it Bradley isn't going to hurt him & Manny actually looked a bit sharper with his punching against Marquez than he did vs Tim first time round even though he clearly should have won. If he was to show that sharpness in a rematch with Bradley, it could set him up perfectly for the next Marquez fight.

I dunno how much the KO will effect him, everyone makes out like he will be a brain damaged zombie next time out but he was fine almost immediately after the fight and prolonged beatings do more damage than a straight Ko. Worst thing that could happen from the KO is that he gets gun shy.

Really don't think it's a wise decision for his health to get back in the ring so soon. It was a brutal knockout, he should take a years break at least. He may never recover from the next one if he hasn't already.
But with boxers schedules these days a years break is nearer 18 months after a "warm up fight" for a 34 year old fighter. He got knocked out, I don't think resting for a year is going to make a difference either way in his next fight.

Get back on that horse, he should fight again in April and then another JMM fight in September as he's planning.

I'd like to see a decent opponent in April, it will give us an indication of how he's looking after suffering the KO, Rios and Bradley would both be good, as stated by you other dudes.

I actually think that getting sparked may have had some benefits, he seemed to be getting disheartened with boxing and losing interest, it may have been the catalyst he needed to reignite his passion for the sport. I would be far more concerned for Manny had he taken a sustained beating or quit on his stool.
