I thought it was a good stoppage tbh, McClosky looked like he was about to be KO'd every time a left hook landed. It was a fair stoppage.

For starters, it was the way he handled the shot. He didn't know what the fuck to do, took him to the corner then waved it off. Like, what the fuck is that all about? Either jump in, give him a count or let him continue, don't take him to the corner and then stop him anyway.

And yeah, he was rocked, but he didn't go down and by the time IJL had jumped in, Paul was okay to fight on but IJL got in his way. I just thought it was a bit of a confusing ending to a good fight, and thought Paul could've continued. Yeah, he was hurt, but guys legs go all the time and go back into the fight. Could he have been knocked out? Yeah, but its the refs job to decide when he's taking too much punishment and I thought at least give him a count or something, not take him back to the corner and wave it off. He doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing, that ref.

Chop Chop unquestionably deserves credit though. He looked in amazing nick and a knockout that late shows he still has something left in the tank. Great fight, was just a bit gutted for Paul. Maybe its just my like for the lad clouding my judgment for the stoppage, I just hate the way IJL handled it.

Out of curiousity, how did you guys score the 12th?

I thought McCloskey just nicked it if I remember rightly, Prescott was swinging for the hills and landed his own, he was sloppy though and McCloskey done the more cleaner work.

The round was tough to score, plus I was half cut by that stage, the fairest thing to do would have scored it even, I always try not too though.

I might re-watch and see if I score it any different?

I gave it to Prescott if I remember rightly. He had Dudey on queer street right at the end of it.

The fact he fought a 50/50 fight with Prescott just about shows his level. Able to mix at that no mans land sub world class level but never break into the top echelons in ABC belt terms. The difference being that Prescott had the style to brutally ko Khan within a round whilst McCloskey was only able to avoid and duck and be awkward against Khan for 6 fairly one sided boring rounds. Goes to show though that old chestnut style make fights still rings true.

Hope McCloskey can have another run at a title shot though could be a hard task but with Eddie in his corner its not unfeasible. He pulls a crowd after all.

Like you guys, I had it even going into the last. For me it was quite a clear Prescott round. I saw it as Paul getting the better of the exchanges at the start but Prescott had complete control by the end to take the round.
