Not much Holmes footage on YouTube though. I'd take Ali or Shavers I at his prime.you take the cooney fight as larry's prime...like the very best version of larry?...maybe, but i think 78/79/80 larry was the best he was..up to the snipes fight maybe
Yeah, I can definitely see Larry being on shaky ground early on if he's not careful.Holmes should win this but if Foreman manages to draw Holmes into an early brawl he may pull an upset.
that doesn't mean he wouldn't, I could easily say a fighter of Foreman's calibre never put prime Larry away either, so we're all back to square one on the speculation board@Teeto never against a fighter of Foreman's calibre though.
prime Larry? You lost your marbles son?@Teeto Tyson did. .
people did outbox him though, and my argument was that nobody put prime Larry away, not that they didn't hurt him@Teeto Weavers, Snipes, Shavers all hurt him in his prime. Foreman better than all of them and more dangerous IMO. By your argument I could say 'no one on Larry's level outboxed George in his prime'.
That's basically avoiding a debate IMO, which is what we're here for, well I am:good
:good@Teeto BTW I picked Larry as well, look up![]()
yesIn all fairness though Larry did take that right hand from Shavers which was one of the hardest shots that I've ever seen.
Shavers a notoriously poor finisher though :heyIn all fairness though Larry did take that right hand from Shavers which was one of the hardest shots that I've ever seen.
I'm very much of the idea that Larry survived against some of his opponents because they were poor finishers. A big Holmes fan me but he's overrated nowadays IMO.people did outbox him though, and my argument was that nobody put prime Larry away, not that they didn't hurt him
you could easily make the case that prime Larry is better than past prime Ali and Jimmy Young, even if you want to argue Foreman wasn't prime when Young met him, but then again you're the one saying Larry was prime vs Tyson:lol:
