Im glad you have Palomino high. Underrated win for Duran, as is Marcel. If have both above Kobeyashi

Id maybe have De Jesus 3 a little lower, behind Barkley. But im nitpicking.

Its a very good list. It really highlights just how great Duran was

Why do you have Ernesto Marcel so low? He's a monster ATG who beat Caraballo prior to their fight.

Ok just read on..you answered the question.

Nevertheless, to get the upperhand on a great fighter in a close fight is a greater win than against a very good fighter IMO.

I just rate Marcel extremely high.

Its cause of the inconclusive ending, the fight was cut short and it was very close. I just thought it was a really poor stoppage and took away it being a great victory. If the stoppage had been legit or it had continued and he'd won on points as I expected he would have it would have been better imo.

That was out of Duran`s hands though, he still did his thing in the actual fight. A poor decision by a ref shouldn't take away/add to the performance of the fighter whatsoever.

I think it does tbh, sure its not fair on the fighter but its also not fair on the fighter who lost either. i still ranked it rather high but I felt his other victories were more dominant and that put them ahead whereas in this one Marcel still could have won but the bout was cut short. if he had been dominating like the way I had him a long way ahead against Buchanan it may not have been an issue but I only had this fight but a round (i think).

Excellent list Chatty.Only thing is I'd have Moore slightly higher given the enormity of the upset.

Very accurate, only thing I'd do is move Marcel above Kobayashi but as you mentioned it was a very close bout whereas Roberto ran through Kobayashi.

Its 1 Duran fight I`ve never actually watched in full, I always assumed judging by the way people spoke of the fight that it was a clear win for Duran... I`ll probably check it out tonight on youtube.

Kobayashi i way too high he was past his best coming of a loss and he never fought again he shouldnt be ahead of Moore or Marcel nor should he be ahead of Ishimatzu a guy that after Duran beat went on to win the WBC belt against Rodolfo Gonzalez and made five defenses of the title including a win over Ken Buchanan IMO its probably Duran's most underrated win and i would also had it ahead of Cuevas who by the time of the Duran fight hadnt fought in two years and was clearly past his best.

Bizarro was an awful fighter and shouldnt be nowhere near that list he never beat anyone of note before or after facing Duran and his performance against Duran was pathetic to say the least all he did was run the entire fight and still ended up taking a beating in the end, his performance ranks alongside Morrade Hakar's performance against Hopkins as one of the worse title challenges i have ever seen.

Another guy who i think should be in that list is Vilomar Fernandez another one of Duran's underrated wins. Fernandez was one of the best spoilers in the lightweight division and a guy who gave a hard time to almost everyone he faced and he went on to beat the great Alexis Arguello the year after Duran beat him.

Just my two cents.
