The International Boxing Federation (IBF) is being sued by its former ratings chairman, William James, after he was fired "without any warning" because, he was told, he "lived too far away."
Unless James was living in Alaska or Hawaii it's unlikely he was fired because he "lived too far away." A more plausible explanation was that he was fired because the IBF objected to his blowing the whistle on a co-worker, ratings consultant Anibel Miramontes, for "accepting money from a promoter in return for illegally elevating a fighter into the Top 10 rankings."
