Just heard this sad news
RIP Richard Evatt. Known as the 'Tiger' during his exciting pro career and who once fought Junior Jones for the IBO title has died, he was 39, condolences to his family.

Don't know any details at the moment

Obviously wasn't around during his career, but I remember seeing him on a programme about the best domestic knockout artists and I caught up on his career after that. Quality puncher, and that effort against Jones was admirable.

This has come a bit out of the blue, did he have personal problems or something?

Regardless, R.I.P, and condolences to his friends & family.

No way! R.I.P. Evatt.

A true domestic banger if ever there was one, great power. His fight with Jones is awesome.......a proper warrior.

Very sad news, he was living at the sally army in a rough part of Cov (Hillfields). A 32 year old has been arrested on suspicion of murder, though it's still unclear as to what happened. Edit: he has been released on bail, the local wrag believe he died from a drugs overdose.
He was an exciting fighter in his day, with some terrible haircuts.

RIP
