Ricky Burns will announce his defection from Frank Warren to Eddie Hearn and thereby ignite a boxing turf war between Britain's leading promoters.

Scotland's Burns is due to defend his WBO world lightweight title on Warren's delayed Wembley show next month but has decided instead to follow George Groves and Tony Bellew into Hearn's stable.

Hearn hoped to keep the identity of his latest signing under wraps until a media conference tomorrow lunch-time but Warren's lawyers have already despatched warnings of legal action if the move goes ahead.
