Well Burns is "turning down" everyone at the moment because he obviously has serious issues with his current/perhaps former promoter. It's pretty ignorant to accuse him of ducking anyone right now.

Whatever reason this fight isnt being made it's clearly on Burns'Warren's end. Burns ges the benefit of the doubt a lot around here and on the esb brit forum because he's a popular guy on these shores. I doubt people would be so understanding if it was Broner's promoter causing the issues.

Wow it's hardly a duck, Richard Schaefer will hardly be telling the whole truth and Burns isn't in a position to accept a fight just yet anyway is he? How about Broner ducking any challenge from Matthysse & Garcia?

He's only just gone up to lightweight and is already 'ducking' the top guys from the division above?

It seems you're holding him to very different standards compared to Burns. If Broner is 'ducking' them guys then surely the same could be said about Burns, who's actually been at lightweight for longer (due to him moving there to avoid the Broner fight...).

I really like Burns but the way him and his team get a free pass just cos he's a nice guy and British is nad.

And now Broner and GBP have moved on and he is fighting Paulie.
Ricky will probably never get a chance again to get that kind of money or the opportunity to headline HBO.
Did they really think GBP and Broner needed them and the opportunity would be there forever?

could be a duck, but right about now I don't know. burns is really having problems and they need to get worked out because this should be a great time in his career and it's not. promoter/ manager have to understand that big fights come and go. you have in this case, a difficult but winnable fight with vazquez that should pave the way for a huge fight with broner that would garner a lot of attention. to my knowledge, burns has never fought on American tv before. besides, not getting beat, what is the benefit of not taking these fights? also agree with @Lunny...

Not at all if Burns moved up in weight without trying to force the Broner fight hard then I would say it's a duck, let alone if he skipped the weight division above that actually presents some real challenges for him, with fighters in the same promotional stable, it just doesn't make sense. Frankly it now looks like a promoter who shan't be named is the reason this fight hasn't happened. In a totally unrelated story it looks like Ricky genuinely said he wanted a big fight before a Broner undisputed showdown, thought he was getting it, didnt and is pissed off. I believe he wants Broner and Broner wants Burns, but I think Burns wants to unify with Vazquez first if possible to maximise his earning potential, which sells it better for Broner and GBP and if Broner wanted to unify first I'd love that, Broner-Abril & Burns-Vazquez are two interesting fights and the winners fighting clears up a division.

It's not Broner moving up I have a problem with (hes huge), it's the fact he's skipping a division and its happening at a time when it may become more favourable for the fight to be arranged, why not wait a few months and see what Ricky's position is? I don't think Broner-Malignaggi is that bad a fight, would be better if Malignaggi still had the speed of foot he used to, just I want to see Broner's capabilities at Lightweight and Light-Welterweight first

If I was Broner (or Burns when he gets a new promoter) I'd demand unifications or I wouldn't fight, look at Canelo, that's how you negotiate with promoters :good

no one can call duck on the fact that offers were made when we have no idea of what was in the offers, could of been a rematch clause that they keep fighting until broner wins and burns gives ten percent of his purse to broner mother if he wins (100% what the offer was).

This is GBP and not K2. Golden Boys track record in making fights is second to none and that's because they offer good deals to the fighters.
