Provided he cans till compete at a fairly high level (which is no given of course) id love to see a Hatton comeback. For all the criticisms people have had of him as a fighter. he was one of the few mainstream names left in boxing, and he brought a huge following, and great excitement for every one of his fights. To see him get back into the mix with the current crop of exciting light-welterweights would be great.

I agree. If it's true, I hope he has a lucrative TV deal.
I don't mind if he has a few softies with solid undercards until he steps up. It would be a great for his fighters to get the exposure.

I really don't see this return as a return to competitive level and trying to get back to the top, I see it more as him trying to get a TV deal for his team, leaving on a winning note or at the most, winning one more world title before calling it a day.

This comeback is going to end badly. Maybe a bit like McGuigans, OK for a couple of soft touches but then beaten by a guy he would have flattened his his prime when he steps up to world class.
Has he actually said he is coming back or gave any kind of rumblings???

Someone said to Jamie Moore on twitter last night was Moore still thinking of a comeback???...Moore replied, if Ricky comes back I'll fight on the same bill....I liked what he said at first then thought this sounds like a no go, what with Moores brain scans from the past etc?

I still think Ricky could come back and beat Malignaggi........ Malignaggi is pretty poor really IMO.

TBH I think Paulie is a decent enough fighter, its just that he was never going to beat Hatton. The style match-up was bad for him, no punch or movement to keep a pressure fighter off makes for a long night.

I knew Hatton would do a better job on Paulie than Cotto purely because of the styles issue, not because Hatton was a better fighter than Cotto at that point in their careers.

Not sure Mig. Hattons style doesn't age well and at 34(?) he's knocking on but I do think if theres one world class fighter he can beat in his comeback then its Mallinaggi. If I was Hatton he'd be the fight I'd be looking at sooner rather than later.

Unless Hatton's chin has completely gone, he'd do a thorough job on Paulie at 147.

He just can't beat the likes of Mayweather, Marquez and Pacquiao.... which concerns me in this comeback. String together a couple of results and he'll fancy the job, as will they, because the money will be there.

Beat Paulie, then Khan, and give up for good would be my advice.

I think beating Paulie would be good enough personally, but like you say once he gets the taste for it, sure he will be thinking, well they are a few years older too..........
