It'll probably not happen but considering all the talk was of Donaire v Mares beforehand I guess this is the super fight now.

But very similar to the Donaire fight in that Rigo will just move and counter Mares, who again is a great fighter but doesnt match up well with Rigo. Still would like to see Donaire vs Mares at feather

Mares probably has a better chance actually IMO. He's more used to being the pressure fighter and he has the aggression to cause Rigo problems. I'd probably edge toward Rigondeaux here but it's still a very good fight to make.

Mares way too hittable, Rigo fucks him up. And if mares tries to make it dirty rigo will retaliate dirty.

It'll pan out the same but Mares will be fighting to his strengths so may be a little closer. I'm pretty sure Rigondeaux takes him.

This fight has a higher chance of happening than Donaire vs Mares, as Rigondeaux isn't a money-maker for Top Rank. If Golden Boy offered a good fee, I could see Arum letting Rigo fight on a GB-promoted card. Although I don't see GB being keen to make that fight, especially as Mares is at 126lbs now.
