I think the closeness of his losses is a bit overstated as none of the ones I've seen I'd have scored the other way (hopkins, ottke, woods, tarver, dawson, cloud, froch, bute and last night). Actually his win over Tarver I did score the other way.
That aside he was a good man who fought at a consistent level for a very long time (always seeming to win round about half the rounds no matter who he faced). Willing to fight the best time after time and never being shown up is the best way I can describe him.
