It's the right decision, though maybe for the wrong reasons - if it's for mouthing off on Twitter.

A lad who's had nearly 50 fights and only won a single bout, barely competes in a round let alone wins one... and is smacked around in every fight shouldn't be fighting.

The lad is only in his 20's and he's punchy already.

I'm all for the board pulling the licences of ''journeymen'' who aren't competing, and are at risk of long term damage.

Good decision IMO.

@Dinamita is spot on, The lad is punchy and getting worse, he's always at a disadvantage as he had issues as a child IIRC. He's earned money from the sport but he's not just losing to prospects now he's losing to anyone and everyone. IMO this sets a good precedent as long as the board are sensible with it. TBH a sport like this as @Tecate alludes to shouldn't have people who turn up just to lose but you do have likes of Razak who benefit the sport immensely as they come to win and now and then get the win they deserve. Journeyman are a massive part of this sport, the board need to look after them but at same time have to protect the sports best interests.

Problem is he'll still carry on in unlicensed circuits, but it's his life.

What I would ask the board to do is make sure that officials are actually fair.

If a journeyman wins, give him the decision. A prospect clearly isn't a prospect if he's losing to a Razak, Deakin, Greaves or whoever - no disrespect intended.

A good journeyman should be capable of causing an upset and giving the opponent a test. Looking at Deakin's record, it's a string of 40-36 losses with frequent KO losses in between.

Give the lad credit, he has a go, but he's simply not up to it and needs to be pulled. If he goes on the unlicenced circuit that's his business, but the Board should say ''not on our watch'' - simply letting him carry on for the sake of ''if he went unlicenced there'd be no controls over what he does'' isn't adequate justification for allowing him to fight.

All the ones that just run away for four rounds should be weeded out too, not sure why a promoter would put them on, but anyway...

Look at the guy with the gold band.... I once saw him on a Steve Wood show in Wigan, didn't even throw a punch, made Johnny Nelson vs DeLeon seem like Ricky Hatton. He'd lose to fucking Charlie Zelenoff. Not sure if he's still fighting, but fuck.... if I was his father I'd slap him afterwards for not trying.

He does mouth off a hell of a lot on twitter. I had to delete him as every day my twitter feed was just filled with his arguments. I think he's just one of those guys who can't ignore it when someone says something to him.

He kicked off with me the other day for saying the title on the line the other day in the Haye Chisora fight were meaningless

yeah mate around that for an average show on the undercard but bear in mind 25% to manager tax and 10% cornerman then 50 pounds to guy who wraps ur hands and u need to pay a grand about for all ur medicals

I've just read on Twatter that it's because he's got too many losses.

The lad hasn't taken it well it seems.

In the cold light of day, he's just not very good at boxing. End of story.

Wouldn't be so bad if we saw journeymen facing each other - hopefully the idea of ''Prizefighter - The Journeymen'' gathers a bit of momentum again.

I'd imagine he'd fare well against the likes of Kristian Laight, but against lads that are 5-0 he gets hammered.

Today's ''journeymen'' just aren't that good.... certainly not compared to Mark Ramsey or Bobby Joe Edwards - decent operators. It seems that now you're a 2-198-5 kinda guy or a Peter McDonagh ''win as many as you lose'', with nothing in between :-(

Watched him box in Glasgow the other month and he just chucked the fight without even trying!!

I don't know how old he is but the kid is punch drunk and was quite mouthy before the fight then lost interest and chucked it. His corner didn't look very pleased about how he was acting, just looked like he wanted to pick up some easy money!!

Very good decision imo
