I'll make a tentative pick of Armstrong on points, although Saddler had the power and the rough house style to give Armstrong problems, but at his absolute best I'll take Hank to get enough shots off to overwhelm the heavier punches Sandy would land.

As for Saddler's size at the weight, never an issue for Armstrong. This would be a violent fight no doubt.

Having seen an older Henry Armstrong fight and a prime Sandy Saddler fight, I would wager any amount of do re me, that the prime featherweight Henry Armstrong
of 1937, who won all his 27 bouts, 26 by ko, would swarm over the easily hit Sandy Saddler and stop Saddler...Armstrong would land dozens of overhand rights and Saddler not the best defensive fighter, would not finish the bout...Fritzie Zivic who stopped Armstrong as a WW was a much" cuter" fighter than Saddler, and had Henry's number as a Welterweight...

Watching Saddler's fight with Charley Riley, I can see how a shorter, weaving pressure fighter like Armstrong could outhustle him on the inside.

To be fair, Saddler was eventually able to create distance between him and Riley and outbox him the rest of the way. I don't think he'd be able to do the same against Armstrong though.

I like Armstrong, and possibly even by late stoppage.

armstrong decision, it would be a dirty brawl and either could get injured 4 a tko, and with armstrong a late stoppage is a good call in any matchup, but i think saddler would finish more often than not

This would be a war Saddler tries his best to keep up with Armstrong on the inside using all the tricks in the book including the use of elbows, low blows all that dirty stuff Saddler was an expert on, but i think Armstrong who had a tremendous chin is able to take Saddler's best shot and keep coming, he outworks Saddler and beats him by decision.

Armstrong decisions him in a rough-and-tumble affair. Saddler is tough and crafty enough to avoid getting stopped.
