WBN have been handed a letter from former British bantamweight champion Stuart Hall in relation to his spat with promoter Frank Maloney, which has now led to the Darlington fighter to search for a new promoter.

Hall, 32, was pulled from a fight card late last month with just a few days’ to go and had raised his concerns publicly before contacting World Boxing News for continue to air his grievances.

By Stuey Hall

“I am writing this letter in relation to my ex- promoter Frank Maloney,” Hall told WBN.

“I was advised six weeks ago (18th April) that I would be fighting on his show scheduled for the 2nd June 2012 at Manchester Bowlers Arena. As I have been ticking over and keeping fit as I always do, once I got this notice and fight date I upped my training.

“I was travelling from Darlington to Leeds five days a week, which is a 140 mile round trip and as I have got no sponsor to help with cost from training, I fund this myself which alone costs me £100 per week.

“The only help I do get is from Kerry Kays (CNP), with my supplements. He has been a real help to my career.

“Great sacrifices have been made by me and my family as my wife is expecting our second child in September and with this fight date I gave up employment, along with my wife cutting down her working hours to look after our daughter so I could dedicate fully to my training.

“Boxing is my livelihood and I am the main bread winner for my family. So you can imagine my upset and devastation to find out 48 hours prior to the scheduled weigh-in that Frank Maloney has pulled me off the show - advising us that he doesn't have the budget?(surely he could of let me know a lot sooner).

Hall went on: “All the hard work, dedication and commitment went down the drain. How can a promoter go from backing me so much to win a Lonsdale Belt outright (in the least amount of fights on record) and be the only bantamweight ever from Darlington, having only one defeat (narrowly) to someone whose on the verge of a world title (Jamie McDonnell), to be treated with so much disregard is a disgrace and no professional boxer should be treated in this way.

“I hope Frank Maloney realizes how much his actions affect people, not only the boxers but everyone around them. I don't know if Frank Maloney thinks I'm not going to get any further in boxing career, but believe me I'm far from finished and the best is yet to come!

Hopefully Hall can get onto another promoter quickly, he's a solid domestic level fighter.

Despite his class and pedigree, I don't see any of the big promoters taking a chance with him unfortunately. He's not a big ticket seller, is in an unfashionable division and he seems like a quiet lad, which means he is far from a promoter's dream.

Hopefully someone like Phil Jeffries takes a chance with him and starts throwing some money around to get him the fights his talent deserves.

I saw him at the Sunderland show against Power. He's solid domestic level. Maloney should just pack in promoting and concentrate on Price full time.

There's plenty to work with in the North East if only someone had the money/knowledge. Maybe if Phil Jeffries could crank it up a level. If the same, hungry promoter had Hall, the Dickinson brothers, Jeffries (when he comes back) etc they'd make good money in the NE. Even one show a month with one of the aforementioned headlining with say a George Watson/Danny Hughes on the undercard would be a winner!

Haskins is terrible to watch Can see Stuart winning the belt and bringing it back to the North East.
Really hard to watch but he is effective. I think Stuey's size and work rate will win it for him. He'll be happy enough to be pushing Lee around. Stuey also seems like the kind of fighter where a loss will only make him want it more actually looking forward to a Haskins fight now. Never thought I'd say that.
