Imagine your alt starting to disagree with you. :ROFLMAO: So for the price of one, now there's two thinking alike in a 10 year-old thread with 50+ posters thinking otherwise. Well done. Tennis will be happy to lose all the Fedtards and Rafans who'll all retire like Pactards and Flomos did. Balanced discussions and coverage can't come soon enough and nobody will miss the screaming housewives.

But Novak is not out of the door just yet and it looks like WTF ATP will come down between him and Daniil. The latter fought hard through Zverev in an epic, proving his mental superiority and Nole had some of his best performance vs. Rublev, particularly on serve. At current standings the two will likely meet in Sunday's final and important points, as well as a key H2H match that could decide the fate of the no1 spot around Roland Garros or Wimbledon next year.
Novak vs Danil for No. 1!!!

Meh... ☕

I think you will find Tennis viewership will drop once Roger and Rafa have gone, they are a big draw. You might dislike us but just because you disagree with us doesn't make us wrong, plus there are lot more of us than of you (From Serbia by any chance? 🤣 ) Hopefully some of the newer guys like Tsitsipas might have enough charisma to attract some newer younger fans but Novak will always be a drag on the popularity of the sport not a plus. Also facing a Russian who is likely full of steroids is unlikely to work in anyone's favour (albeit I did enjoy the last set of the US open final as the Russian took the GS from Djokovic!)

It might happen, but only because of the BS ranking technicality that tennis uses. You shouldn't win three slams, make a final, and then be in danger of losing the top spot unless someone else is approaching that level of success in 2022.

Alas, Novak has a ton of points to defend, so he'll be penalized severely for his 2021 run.
The current points system is cruel. It virtually punishes you for your success.

I tried to tell Mr. Brick Wall that, but he wasn't hearing me.

Which part of "Tennis will be happy to lose all the Fedtards and Rafans who'll all retire like Pactards and Flomos did. Balanced discussions and coverage can't come soon enough and nobody will miss the screaming housewives" did you not understand so you chose to reply and repeat it in different words? Yes, person worshippers will retire and sports fans will remain, and tennis will go by just great by losing you butthurt lot now that Novak pulled the GOAT out of Fedal's barn.
(From Serbia by any chance? 🤣
Aww the "you must be Serbian" argument never mind Djokovic has some of the largest international following of any athlete, well trackable on social media. Nope, I'm Hungarian. Hungarians and Serbians have a long beef and it's sometimes nasty. But I learnt quite young to go beyond borders, languages, passports and cultures and embrace all. And I've decided to root for the then-underdog who upset the perfect Fedal story for the GOAT race, crowing the one housewives feared the most. Fucking deal with it. :ROFLMAO:

What you mean is YOU will be happy. We are sports fan, and more discerning ones at that. The fact we can appreciate the ending of the careers of the two greatest players of all time and you can't is your issue. You only have to watch every match Djokovic has ever played versus RF and RN and the crowd were almost universally on the side of them and Not him. You can support who you like but you will always be in the uneducated minority if you think Djokovic can hold a candle to either of them.

What do you all think of Peng Shuai accusing former communist vice premier, 75 yo Zhang Gaoli of rape, then she getting kidnapped and likely put in the same brain wash torture critics, celebrities or billionaires like Jack Ma ended up receiving? Psychological terror, physical abuse, sleep deprivation, hard medication among the tactics on easy mode, Uighurs get the real, life-threatening torture.

So she disappeared predictably after her early november post and the UN, WTA, ATP etc. demanded answers, and now someone posted the predictable 'I'm all right' smiling pictures from an unknown location. These are most likely staged scenes.

However, in a world with maximum censorship and zero criticism, ppl. in dictatorships communicate with signs and eastern eggs, Uighurs do that about mass torture and murder on TikTok etc. Here, on one picture Peng holds Kung-Fu Panda, associated with the communist Chinese regime (this is not a joke), that is pointing to Winnie to Pooh, associated with Xi Jin-ping (not a joke either), as if showing she's being controlled by the state and the authoritarian leader that avenges all criticism. The actual cartoon Winnie the Pooh is banned in China as well as the dolls cause the party thinks there's too much resemblance with Xi, and a fat bear craving for honey is uncalled ridiculing of the leader. I shit you not.

Peng never got the chance to actually speak, explain her well being on camera or tell where's she's kept at (perhaps at home with plenty of secret service agents living with her), perhaps she was brought home for the staged photos then back to camp. In China, torture is okay, brainwash is okay, rape is okay, but don't dare accusing anyone of note of forcing their ancient Viagra'd up limp dick into your vag or you'll get the treatment you deserve.

Very Sad. But this is what happens if you have a totalitarian government with complete power and citizens have zero individual rights. I have never understood why the Chinese people haven't revolted to get Democracy but I guess that they have been brainwashed since childhood that this stuff is better. Not much anyone can do really, China has way to much Economic power for anyone to effectively impose any penalties on them and if they did they would suffer worse give China makes almost everything we need. I guess the WTA might not do their 2022 China events but if as I expect the Chinese don't budge and we never see her in public again then after a couple of years they will fold to the commercial necessity of being in China.

They've indeed been brainwashed for generations and generations. There's perhaps not as much of an absolute love as there is for Kim Jong-un, but the many mainland Chinese I know are extremely proud of Xi, his government building the world's largest economy (which is what they think), a peaceful state (I shit you not) that gives everyone a job to work your ass off 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, and have entirely state-controlled, proud nationalistic culture.

And mostly, if you're a good boy and of the state supported type of Chinese and not one of the many suppressed ethnicities, you'll be just fine working your ass into the grave and feel luck to have a gov. that can handle Covid properly unlike the so-called western democracies, never mind Chinese released that shit. Xi also shows power on the outside to raise confidence in his regime inside, and he's a smiling, warming type of person on the telly, so any sort of criticism toward and leader buddy of his is a direct attack on the system.

Whenever I criticize what's happening in Chine it is western propaganda, I don't understand Chinese values and culture, it's not really dictatorship or communism, there is no Uighur mass murder and slave labor, and everything is just fine, everywhere else is worse. It's almost a perfect Orwellian state with thought control, but with enough paper freedom to buy stuff and get state-controlled entertainment, travelling, food, work, quality healthcare so why revolt or talk about an entirely personal matter in "public media", such as how you didn't protect you vag, you lousy westernized whore.

Novak Djokovic Backs WTA Threat To Cut Ties With China After Disappearance Of Peng Shuai
Novak Djokovic offered his support to Peng Shuai and WTA after the Chinese tennis player went missing.

Novak Djokovic said on Friday that he backed the WTA's threat to cut lucrative business ties with China if tennis star Peng Shuai remains unaccounted for and her sexual assault allegations against a top Communist Party official are not investigated. Talking to reporters after beating Cameron Norrie at the ATP Finals in Turin, men's world number one Djokovic offered his support to Women's Tennis Association boss Steve Simon, who said Thursday that he is willing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Chinese business to ensure Peng's safety.

"I hope that she's found and that she's healthy and that everything is fine, at least the worst is avoided. I support the statement of the WTA as an organisation and also their president absolutely," said Djokovic, a 20-time Grand Slam champion. "The whole tennis community needs to back her up and her family and make sure that she is safe and sound. Because if you have tournaments on Chinese soil without resolving this situation it would be a little bit strange, so I understand why the WTA has taken a stance like that."

Former Wimbledon and French Open doubles champion Peng alleged on Chinese social media earlier this month that former vice-premier Zhang Gaoli had "forced" her into sex and they had an on-off relationship. The claims were quickly scrubbed from the Twitter-like Weibo platform and the 35-year-old has not been seen since. Her disappearance has sparked a flurry of calls for China to reveal her whereabouts, including from women's tennis icons Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka. The Professional Tennis Players Association, co-found by Djokovic, said they would be willing to take action if verifiable evidence of Peng's safety wasn't given by China.

"We must stand together, whether it's a male or female player, whether it's one player or more players who are experiencing something like this, it's necessary and kind of logical that we stand behind our peers in trying to give support in one way or another," Djokovic added. "To unite means to come together and figure out what action we can take. Not just players but players with ATP, WTA, but all the governing bodies of our sport and I'm really glad that there was an initiated reaction from both ATP and WTA chairmen because this is horrifying. "I hope for the sake of tennis and the sake of Chinese tennis that she is found because it's terrible."

And that's why by boi Nole is the champion players and true fans deserve. It's not a popularity contest but standing up to things that aren't right, and I don't hear Federer, Nadal or so-called champion of causes Serena rallying behind Peng they shared a court with over various events.

Lol. You can't use this to claim that Djokovic is at their level. There are a myriad of reasons why any one individual might talk or not on a sensitive news story!
One judges a character not by how many watch commercials they smiled in nor how loud the media cheer them on fitting popular agenda, but by the contribution they've objectively brought to their field outside of self-interest.

Federer and Nadal never made a dent as the head of players council. Federer pushed to maintain a long season with many mandatories cause that fitted his easy style and raked up enough ATP matches to he could skip a few without PTS penalty. And Nadal, after got injured, pushed for 24 month points keep to his ranking benefit and the disadvantage of up and comers. Thx God that didn't happen.

Under Djokovic the mandatory number got trimmed and Davis Cup got eased up to a single tournament. Lower ranked players got BY FAR the most significant pay raise at slams in the past 20 years and he pushed for some sort of monthly support during Covid no-play, cause newsflash: outside of the top 100 and for many countries the top 50, hotels and flights and tennis academies and physios and coaches and nutrition and all that costs more than they getting in pay, and they weren't paid any since their profession was shut down.

When dozens contacted him privately, Novak also pushed for a little more breathing room at the Aussie when several dozen of his fellow athletes, needing to train and practice, were confined into their hotel rooms never mind the bubble was ready for practice. He took all the "selfish Djokovic wants to infect Australia" headlines and still got players back, and since the ATP council was deaf on many of his positive ideas, he's founded the men/women joined PTPA that's now got Peng's back. Guess who didn't join him out of personal spite?

The fuck is Federer and Nadal are famous, popular and influential for if they lack the character to support a defiled, oppressed and kidnapped player they know personally? A line has to be drawn and I'm sowwy if this is too sensitive for two of the most respected and rich athletes of all time, living freely in their mansions.

Medvedev safely thru, Djokovic-Zverev will be very interesting following their exchange of wins the past few months. Road to ATP WTF not getting easier to Novak, I think it's been 5 years he's last won it. The title is generally for the younger and fresher at the end of a long season, and Novak could be one of the oldest to lift it, IF he beats the Olympic and the US Open champion
