How would you do it?
If you had control over everything and wanted to build Amir back up what would you focus on. I Doubt massive changes are possible considering his experience and alarming stupidity but how would you go about making a new beginning for the lad?

I would :
-Stay at 140. Amir never weighs in very heavy on fight night and is already too easy to bully at 10 stone. Being in with bigger punchers isn't too wise either.
-Get shot of Saj and the other hangers on and get a proper PR guy in to run his twitter and filter his interviews. All the crap he gets himself in is an distraction he doesn't need.
-Move away from the wild card and Freddy Roach. Roach has done a lot for him and is a great trainer but Pac and more recently JCC jnr are ahead of him in the pecking order there and the gym war mentality of the others isn't good for amir. I'm not sure where he should go. Maybe Manny Steward could rebuild him in to a proper stick and move fighter.
-Drill into him how to react when hurt and get him to focus on jabbing and 1-2 's then moving on again. When he backs someone up he can maybe let go with a left hook to the body. The main focus had to be on raiding tactics and a solid high guard for me though.

Your ideas CHB?

If you mean 'how can he be made into a top level fighter' or better than he already is...then you can't.
Personally I don't think he is a great boxer. Great speed yeah,he's to predictable and becomes easy to time. He is way too sloppy and his flurries are inaccurate, his jab seemed to land ok against Garcia but not a lot else. He needs to settle down and be more balanced he falls in loads which is dangerous for him.

I'm not hating on Khan he will give us exciting fights. But I don't think he can change its just his mentality and the fact he thinks he is above all these guys isn't going to help either.
He needs to definitely stay at 140.

He needs to work on footwork and balance, rather than move around the ring he seems to drunkenly stagger around the ring.

he needs to learn the benefits of a high guard.

he should never throw more than 3 shots in a row.

Also I think his power is diabolical, rather than sit down on his shots, he should just look to kill with speed and accuracy.

I mean, how would you make the most of what he has now in terms of game plans, tactics and training etc.
Small changes that could make him less exploitable against similar level opponents, making him elite is impossible. An obvious one to start with would be to try and stop him falling inside his own reach when he loses balance when flurrying. That'd make him less easy to counterpunch. This is easier said than done though, I doubt somebody like Roach has not tried to work on these things but when it comes to the heat of the moment Amir is not the most collected individual.
Had bit craic bout this at work and I was saying even 3 shots may be too many I'd stick to just jab and straight right!

Only watched Garcia fight once but I thought he was woefully inaccurate just my opinion but I think he needs to slow down just slightly,no one is worried by his fast flurries now.

I feel a bit for Khan cos he has problem where its obvious now if you throw with him you have a great chance of beating him and he doesnt have the power or skill to deter fighters from doing this to him.

First of all you would need to get Amir to listen when you say don't stand and trade when your chin's made out of toilet paper. He could be VERY good, if he chooses to box at range and stop banging. When I heard Amir say "that's boxing and I just got caught" I actually cringed. The ideas to hit and not get hit, not blame your KO loss on getting caught, because you keep getting caught, and thats not good for your health or career.
Same shit you do to every other chinny boxer that gets too wild:

@Flea Man was right

if you think about it? His problems arent THAT different from Waldos.

What am I right about this time? ;)

To be fair, Khan is one of the easiest fighters to analyse that I have ever come across, a pure heart on his sleeve operator with hideous flaws across te board. And as for Manny, Khan lacks the dig Stewards best vulnerable boxer punchers had, and I don't see Khan being moulded in the fashion Tommy was by Manny as a pro' so I don't see him being able to have much success with Steward either, though it'll certainly give him more of a chance at delaying the next time he goes all Bambi on ice for us.
Khan doesn't have the power to follow a Hearns/Wlad/Whoever else blueprint under Steward or anyone else. The key thing is they all had power as well as length and athleticism. That stops people walking you down. Khan got walked down by average in the grand scheme of things operators like Maidana and Peterson. When he gets walked down he becomes completely featherfisted, he can't punch off the backfoot. A lot of his punching mechanics are poor actually, but the only time he does have some power is when he's on the front foot. Key thing is to try and correct balance issues and hope his flurrying hasn't been completely found out.
Exactly what I'm getting at @Marvelous Marv
Khan would be best served being a grifter, with them fast hands he could make some big money on the grifting scene.
