In the 'on this day in boxing' thread there is a post by @doug.ie regarding Vitali Klitschko whose birthday it is today.
Perhaps eneviatbly, seeing as it is a HBO production, the first fight shown in Doug's You Tube link is Lewis vs Klitschsko.
Now, to me, it is an iconic fight. It features a changing of the guard (albeit one where the Champion never lost but you know what I mean), captured the boxing fraternity's imagination and still sparks very passionate debate some 9 years later and will, in all possibility, for many years to come.
So, what are boxing's most iconic fights and why? What are the most iconic fights in your life and why?
What makes a fight iconic?
