I've always said Floyd would take this on points pretty comfortably and I stand by that. I reckon it would be a massive anti-climax of a fight.

In 2009 it would have been slightly more competitive as Pac's footwork was much more explosive, he could give Floyd a few problems with his angles and make it harder to time him. However Floyd would still have a lot going in his favour, it's very easy to offset Manny's rhythm with the simplest of feints, Floyd would keep Manny off balance and never allow him to really put any spring into his attacks, Manny would end up being squared up and being even more open for the right hand than he already is. Manny is easily baited as we have seen against JMM, Floyd would use his flickr jab to keep Manny thinking which isn't really Manny's strength then as soon as manny loses his patients which doesn't take long he would try to attack but be pinged with a straight right then before he could retaliate Floyd would be out of range so manny would dive in and be open to head body combinations as he would fall short and be in no position to retaliate. However i do see manny winning a few rounds on work rate back in 09.

I think it would be a great watch. It would really bring out the best in Floyd. Behind all the bullshit and money and crap like that, when he's in top gear doing his defensive thing it's beautiful to watch.

I'd still love this fight to be honest though it's obviously too late.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching Floyd operate at his finest, I just don't think this fight would even be that close. I honestly reckon Floyd would more or less shut Manny down and make it look almost routine!

But likewise, would still love the fight to happen.

Hard call in 2009. I honestly think Pacquaio would be as much a stylistic nightmare for Floyd as vice versa. Sure we have seen how much Pac can struggle with a slick accurate and precision boxer but then again Mayweather is a completely different fighter to Marquez, he doesn't come forward as much and throws even less. If Ortiz, hatton and old De La Hoya can get inside on him (sporadically) then Pacquaio can too and if Mosley can nearly take his head of then so can Manny.

i'd still favour Floyd via decision but i don't think it would be near as easy as some people believe. I think it would be about 7-5 on rounds and probably be controversial just due to who is involved.

Yeah that's what I mean. For me personally, I'd love watching that. Not competitive but still great to watch.

Like people loved Mayweather-Cotto because it was more competitive than people were expecting and exciting. I didn't like it because I wanted to see Floyd in that top gear doing his thing.

 I'm such a fucking Flomo....

in 09 pacman, floyd isn't untouchable and Manny had that killer instinct and a bolt gun left hand, he was explosive and had a high workrate, if he could have kept a southpaw jab in Floyd's face whilst bouncing in and out of range i could see him taking this as Floyd would have to open up at some point and Pacman only needs one shot. however now i dont even want to think about it, this is Hagler-Leonard 2, you have one man chasing the other, whilst the chased "retires" etc then finaly when the chaser isn't at his best the Leonard of the play steps in to get his name on the record.

Fuck sake. We've lasted 5 months without this thread

Anyway I say Mayweather. I still think Pacquiao definitely has the style and ability to make it interesting and would give him a good shot at winning though. Fuck it, I'm going for Manny here.

That's an interesting point that I'm going to make a separate thread on cos that's how I roll.

Always been in Floyds corner...Fan of both, but I'm not blind like a lot of Manny fan boys.

I voted Floyd K.O cos there is no TKO option, which I believe happens 8/9th round....Floyd will bust him up....Manny cant handle being busted up. TKO all day.

Used to think points, maybe it would have been points 2/3 year back to Floyd, but now, Manny gets his arse handed to him.

Mannys style is perfect for Floyd to pick off and maybe even look superb doing it....Counter punch pull counter bangs in Mannys face as long as the ref allows it IMHO.

Can't see Floyd taking him out, he's moderately feather fisted for his level and Manny has a pretty solid chin (post flyweight days). If Marg and Cotto can land flush on him and not Ko him then Floyd aint gonna do it.
