CHAMP: Wlad Klitschko
#1: Vitali Klitschko
#2: Povetkin
#3: Adamek
#4: Pulev
#5: Helenius
#6: Boystov
#7: Chagaev
#8: Arreola
#9: Fury
#10: Thompson

What do you guys make of this? :huh

Notable absentees:

Haye
Chisora
Price ;)
Seth Mitchell
Eddie Chambers
Odlanier Solis
Dimitrenko/Wach/Ustinov

Some big glaring mistakes there IMO. Pulev is a top 5 heavy (?) :patsch Tyson Fury is better than Tony Thompson and the rest of the guys above (?) :patsch And the biggest dickhead error has to be Boystov, whose best win is probably Vinny fucking Maddalone!

Hell I think Boxrec's rankings are better than this! :stonk

I suppose Haye's absence is due to his retirement and he won't be ranked until he has a fight. Other than that though, the list has some glaring issues! From the so-called Bible of Boxing you'd have hoped they would be able to come up with something better than this.

I just don't get the Pulev rating. Tyson fury arguably has a better win as does mitchell. Haye has two better wins, he'll even Audley had Pulevs current title!
I get that Haye shouldn't technically speaking be ranked, but it seems like he's getting highly ranked for NOT having fought aKlit

Tbf looking at it he might be abit high, but I think Dimitrenko win puts him comfortably in top 10, admitedly should be behind Haye though not sure what I was thinking

How many top ten heavies has haye beat? Helenius may have deserved a ranking but not after loss to Chisora

Helenius?
He was decent but not top ten material. Plus Chisora hardly trounced him (or to quote Vano's ridiculous comment: Del "fucked <Helenius> up"), it was a competitive fight (more so than Saturday's debacle IMO). He gets credit for a good performance, but that's about it.

One more than Chisora: Valuev. If anyone denies he was top ten, they're simply exposing their bias. Name ten better ACTIVE heavies at the time Haye fought him if you can.

Neither has David Haye if you think of it, other than valuev at a push. Or helenius for that matter.
Hello bias!

But Chisora has Helenius, he was a top ten and was beaten by his own admission

I'm not biased against Haye, I like him but Valuev is his single good win at heavy, that's not enough to warrant a top five placing now, years after the fact and I don't know if it's still worthy of a top ten, if he beats Chisora then fair play

I can't think of how anyone could have had Helenius as a top ten fighter, but that might say more for the division. Valuev is a better, more proven opponent than anyone Chisora has beaten. So is Ruiz. Chisora's best win is Danny Williams.

Why do you class Seth Mitchell as an omission? He's certainly not got the skills to be ranked there, and hasn't got the wins under his belt to justify putting him there. I don't doubt he'll win an alphabet title one day but I expect him to be coddled to it by GBP and HBO.

My top ten:

1) Wladimir Klitschko (World Champion)
2) Vitali Klitschko
3) Alexander Povetkin
4) David Haye
5) Tomasz Adamek
6) Eddie Chambers
7) Ruslan Chagaev
8) Kubrat Pulev
9) Alexander Dimitrenko
10) Odlanier Solis

Not much separates 4-6 for me. Solis hasn't done much as a pro so having him in the top 10 is extremely generous, but there's a group of heavyweights - Solis, Boytsov, Chisora, Helenius - that lack that signature win and he's the best boxer of them all. If Chisora beats Haye then the Helenius 'win' and Haye knock Solis out of the top 10 entirely.

Arreola can fuck off though. Kudos to him for trying to get into better shape and taking boxing mire seriously but he's still got some way to go. He also wouldn't get anywhere near his expected title shot at Wlad if he fought anyone I'm the top 10 as he's just not that good. He's American and allegedly fun to watch, but that doesn't mean he's world class.
