If Wlad is the WBA "Super" champ and Ruslan Chagaev is the WBA "regular" champ, why then are Luis Ortiz and Lateef Kayode fighting on Thursday for the "interim" title?

I may have missed something or is the WBA just a complete joke now??

Does anyone really class an 'interim' champ as a world titleist though,I always class it as one step up from intercontinental/international trinkets but one down from the 'regular' title.

It's the 'super' and 'regular' belts that are the problem.

The WBA is bizarre. Chagaev's career since the Povetkin fight went completely under the radar for me (I was wondering when he was going to fight again) and lo and behold it turned out that he'd won the WBA belt somehow, despite not ranking in the Ring top ten (effectively top 11).

WBA dont do mandatories anymore unless they are asked for by both parties. By far the worst Governing body in Boxing by a mile.
