Keith Thurman will face Mario Barrios at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on February 5.

Barrios' only loss was to Tank Davis.

Its probably one of the worse opponents he could pick, Barrios is a 140lber coming off a stoppage loss to tank, they could have at least got a 147lbsr even if they are coming off a loss someone like Lipinets

Just a thought what about Thurman vs the winner of Khan/Brook? They are probably all evenly shot

I heard this is on PPV too, wouldn't be surprised if that's true given PBC will be putting it on. Sure both fighters were on PPVs last but that's because of who they fought, these two weren't the draw and both are coming off losses also, not something I would buy if it was PPV here and I won't stay up to watch live but I will catch the replay.

Not the best fight but not the worst either and since Thurman's last fight ended in defeat I understand why he might want to take this. But if he comes through he can't have another 10 years off, he needs to fight again at least twice next year

I don't like that, Thurman stops Khan and outpoints Brook fairly comfortably at this point also, Keith is still a firm top 5, only the legendary Pacman has beaten him and by a point on all 3 cards if I remember rightly, it was close and we haven't seen any evidence that he's past it, all this time out of course is a concern so we'll see how he looks against Barrios

Thurman could be as shot as Brook at this stage could be 50/50 if Brook can make 147

Also looks like Spence vs Ugas next then Spence will have to defend against Stanionis so looks like we will get Thurman vs Crawford next year, Thurman looking to cash out asap lol

I hope Spence Jr isn't looking past Ugas too lol that would be a terrible mistake.

The way Keith Thurman's career has turned out has been more than a disappointment, he was considered by some the best in the world at one point it's sad to see now he's begging for a seat at the top table when he's only lost one extremely close fight. This is what happens when you go part-time. If he fights Crawford that's a great fight but I'd expect Thurman to suffer the first stoppage loss of his career and then do what you said, ride off into the sunset.

Barrios needs to fire his management, asap.
Why? Thurman is coming from a long lay off one body shot might end Thurman and his chin is probably even worse than the Lopez fight hard to predict how much Thurman has left

Thurman is still only about 33 y-o. That' past-prime, but not really by that much.
He's definitely an enigma in the sport, hard to know how motivated he is, but I don't see Barrios as any kind of threat.
The guy is coming up from SLW, and he only had average power THERE. Maybe he can dance his way to victory, especially if Keef's not in great aerobic condition, but I doubt it. Thurman is pretty good at cutting off the ring.

But after this fight? Yeah, I don't see him getting past Crawford, and probably not Spence either, though that would be one heckuva' fight since they have similar styles. My money would be on a Spence win via KO, of course.

True but theres a chance Davis might be able to spark Thurman who might be shot, the bookies actually have the odds close for this fight im suprised but Barrios has nothing to lose he can catch Thurman cold
