To many of us hardcore fans, broadcasted tale-of-the-tapes have become very useful when they include one particular and significant measurement that we don't get on boxrec or with any consistency on any other resource I'm aware of- Fight-night weigh-ins. I've seen many a forum discussion where this becomes a point of contention. To me, the official weigh-ins for making weight are like half a puzzle without seeing it against a second weigh-in after sub-heavyweights start hydrating. When assessing potential matches, putting weight-jumping and weight-draining into perspective, and into context with normal hydrated weights for each division, etc, etc, knowing where fighters are after they make their official weight is a significant measurement and I am always appreciative when HBO's TOTT's come up with the secondary weight measurement and have used screen-caps of TOTTs in a heck of a lot of discussions on boxing forums for these. I think they should be readily available to all of us interested in detailed discussion that would bring this matter up (a matter many casuals don't seem to be particularly aware of). So, if you are looking for a screen-cap to use or for reference for the fight-night weigh-ins in a certain fight, a certain fighter's history or simply to get a feel for what the name fighters in a certain weight class have been coming in at, or to see if they were even publicly listed on major broadcasts, please request them here, bookmark the thread and come back when you've got a request, and I'll see if I've got it or can get it for you, or if someone else here does, of course.

It would be nice is this information, if available, became something that Boxrec recorded as a matter of course. Would be interesting for fans using the site 20-30 (or whatever) years from now to evaluate careers.

Wouldn't mind seeing these on boxrec, would be interesting to check out if and when fluctuations in weigh-in and fight-night weights affected performances and would be easier to see who are struggling at the weight.

Yeah, I mentioned this to one of the boxrec editors who frequents another forum. I mentioned I could supply him with all of the ones I had on file, with the accompanying image to show it was broadcasted, if I recall correctly, but I was completely ignored. It would be great to click the additional notes at least and see if a secondary weight was taken, regardless of whether or not they consider them "official". That's valuable information if HBO or Showtime is getting that. I WANT THAT INFORMATION! :ibutt

:good

We'll have to try and ambush dondada about this when he next posts on a completely unrelated subject!:hey
No need for an ambush :hi:

I have nowt to do with the records, thank goodness. I'd be almost certain, though, that this type of info wouldn't be listed as part of the record because it's unofficial and inconsistent in itself. However, I suppose it could go in the notes bit under the judges' names, etc. It would have to be on an ad hoc rather than blanket basis, I think.

You'll be wanting cock measurements next.
