1. There are two forms of boxing - amateur and professional.



2. It is supervised by a referee over a series of between one to three minute intervals called rounds

19. Boxer John Heenan got his ass handed to him so badly in an 1860 bare knuckle boxing match that they hired an artist to capture his rearranged face in oil.

20. Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali reportedly went two months without sex before a big fight, claiming it made him unbeatable in the ring.

Not to nit pick, as this is possibly the most pointless thread ive ever seen

but

Is so utterly false it gave me toothache, loads of fighters have 200+ losses

Why is a ring not called a box? Or a square? Surely a ring is round? Maybe it's because you do rounds in boxing and you do boxing in a ring, imagine if it was a ring, it would likely be harder to trap an opponent on the ropes, and the ropes would sag a bit like the red rope thing at clubs?

Did he get bored by 18 and start chatting total shit about UFC and 'asses being handed to him'.

I would say it's mental posting such a beginners guide to the sport on a dedicated hardcore forum but to be honest some of the posters we have here...

And I've learnt something as well.a bear beats a man in a fight apparently.

Archie Moore only has 132 knockouts listed.

Billy Bird has more knockouts.

Buck Smith has the most KOs of any colour fighter.

Kill yourself.
